Prestiging every other time also opens up an extra class (1, 3, 5, 7, & 10th prestiges). So that's another reason to do so.

I've also read that the care package glitch is still active on the PS3 (post 1.08 patch), but I haven't played since last week to see it myself.

There are two care package glitches. One allows you to get unlimited care packages (some work involved and if not done properly you will lose it's unlimitedness) and the other isn't really a glitch, but maybe a design flaw that was exploited. It's the one where you become insanely fast when carrying around the care package marker. Pair that with Marathon and Lightweight and you become a blur on the screen, knifeing your way to an easy victory. Both (as far as I can tell) have been fixed on PSN.

I was playing Sunday am and this one guy was able to get 32 kills and only 4 deaths. He brought out chopper after bomber after chopper. As soon as I'd respawn, I was dead. Complete BS!
The more I play the more all these glitches are pissing me off!

Again, in my experience these have been fixed on PSN with update 1.08. YMMV.

Epplebee and I were playing MW2 last night and a couple of the groups we hooked up with were doing this and we had our asses handed to us. After a couple of games we decided to go back to World at War and had a more enjoyable experience. I think at one point the most players that were playing the game was like 16,000. Until they can get this fixed they is really no point in playing this game. My question though is.... who and the hell figures out these types of glitches? Is is done by pure accident or do you have some **** that all he does all day is try to find glitches?

I downloaded the Bad Company 2 demo. I was bored with it after 5 minutes. The gameplay is terrible, IMO, but....there must be something I don't 'get' with that franchise since it does well.

I haven't played any of the newer once but I am an avid Battlefield 2 player. It's not as good on hand2hand combat as COD is but it does make up for it in other areas. I personally like that I can hop into a jet or heli to fly and take out the enemies that way, or I can decide to get into a tank or anti-aircraft vehicle. My favourite on that game is an engineer with a puny shotgun, very bad in combat but can repair things and those land mines he can plant are valuable asset to the team. Place them in good strategic locations and your team will do good as it takes out the enemy tanks and other vehicles.

The bad thing is, if you get an ace pilot on the other team, he can dominate the whole game from his jet or heli unless you have equally good anti-aircraft player on your team.

I am eagerly waiting for Bad Company 2 to be released, I can't wait to put my new flight stick into action. Battlefield and COD to me are games that complement each other, I start up COD when I want fast paced h2h combat, BF when I want something more than just hand weapons.

I have been playing with the glitch going and while it can get annoying from time to time you can make it work to your advantage by stealing their packages. I haven't used the cheat once and my k/d ratio is still going up with all these problems.

You're right, if it does bother you the good thing to do is to stop playing until it's fixed. I don't understand the whining, though, as if it's going to get the patch implemented any faster. All online games have exploits highlighted over time...multiply that by the $1 BILLION worth of product they have sold so far and it's no surprise issues have cropped up. I could understand complaints if they weren't addressing them, but they are.

Again, I'm not on here to complain about everything, I'm just saying I have stopped playing because, as of right now, its ruining this game. That paired with boosting makes it almost unplayable. We have a topic called "modern warfare 2" so I think its ok to come on here right now and say the problems with enjoying the game.

And yes, IW is working on (or already have) a patch for the two care package glitches, but what they haven't addressed is the boosting. Every game has boosting and I really don't give a **** about it cause it usually doesn't effect me and I could care less about K/D, my ranking, etc, but whenever a developer puts in two items that almost invite boosting and automatically ends the game cause of it, then its a problem.

I hear ya, my friends and I did the same thing the other day, cept we went and played Zombies which I forgot how fun that can be.

and sadly yes, its just some kid in a dorm room with no life that does it a lot, how do I know this? I had two kids that lived down the hall from me and all they did was try and find glitches in games that just came out. They wouldn't go to class, they would trade off between the two, and were the whitest people I've ever seen they looked like ghosts.
They would think they were sooo cool when they would find some and go online and annoy people.

Ruining the game? Bit of an overreaction I think, but you're more than entitled to that opinion.

All you're saying is that some people cheat. That's absolutely true and that's a poor reflection of those people. Are they supposed to take tactical insertion out of the game because a couple of bozos suck so bad they have to cheat to rank up? Pray tell, how do you know they aren't trying to address that issue?

I play the game quite a bit and can't say I have encountered boosting more than once. I usually play Ground War (Domination/Team Deathmatch), Team Deathmatch, and Headquarters Pro. Seems you could boost up in any of those game modes yet I must be getting lucky not encountering it. I know it's more of a FFA thing. Play Team Deathmatch....who cares that much?

The care package thing I have seen a lot, and agree it needs to be fixed (and is), but like I said earlier, you can easily turn it to your advantage by stealing their care packages until the patch comes out or just not play until then.

One last thing, since my main point of "just stop the incessant whining," seems to have gotten a bit lost. When World at War came out that game was called "ruined," as well. With being able to cheat by going under the maps and rack up kills. All of that **** was fixed and that game got plenty popular (Treyarch, not IW).

If they don't address legit issues in time, then it's time to **** at them about it. I'm not a game developer so I don't know what's all involved in some of these fixes. What I do know is they have fixed several issues to date and more are in the works. Aside from the time it takes to create the fix, it also needs to pass approval from Sony and Microsoft for the two consoles.

Maybe I am wrong, but what I see are akin to toddlers in the checkout at a grocery store pitching a hysterical fit because mommy isn't buying them candy. Try to be patient. The game has provided countless hours of entertainment value so far.

I agree with demi, just try to live with it until it is fixed. It's still a fairly new game and with software development these kind of things happen, you can't completely prevent them unless you are willing to never actually release it. With these kinds of cheats though, dedicated servers would be good, that way the admins could at least boot (and ban if necessary) the cheaters. I don't know how easily you can do that now without dedicated server support.

Xbax isn't on DS ? I thought they were? I would like to know how people figured these cheats out. Maybe the makers of the game?

Dedicated servers refers to 3rd party servers that are linked into the game. For example if you have a clan, and want your own server to play in. One option is to rent a game server and have your clan members manage it. Once your gaming session is getting ruined by outsiders coming in and starting cheats, you will kick them from your admin console. If they keep coming back and don't comply with your server rules, you will ban their account from your server. Simple and effective.

For Battlefield 2 I have a bunch of servers bookmarked as I enjoy their rules and the way they are set up. I know that most of the time I will find the gaming experience enjoyable versus some other server.

I'm probably going to give it another shot. What I didn't like was that the players seemed too clunky when they moved and when you'd shoot someone from a distance it was very hard to tell if you were actually hitting anything. Concept wise I like the game, including all of the vehicles (including controllable air support vehicles).

I really only spent about 5 minutes with it and since I have been so used to MW2 it may just take some getting used to. I remember playing WaW for a long time when going back to the original Modern Warfare, which was pretty strange at first.

On the XBox you can report cheating. The problem is I don't think they investigate the reports until they amount to a certain number of complaints on one person, which I totally understand. I also understand not wanting to take the time to report every instance of cheating you see, but it would be nice if people were more diligent about it.

I'm not shy about calling people out if I have my mic on, which usually helps push others to report them.

I can definitely understand the gripe PC users have about not having dedicated servers.

Yep, it's a different type of game. If you're mostly into close combat with infantry weaponry then Battlefield is not as good of an option as COD series is. If you want a little more strategy (not much) and depend on team work (good if you're teaming up with people you know), then it's an excellent game. For me as a PC gamer it is even better since I can use my flight simulator gear to control my helis and jets. Having pedals to control rudder makes it even more enjoyable experience.

As for infantry only action, there are plenty of dedicated servers that disable helis, jets, tanks and all attack vehicles. The only ones you can use are transports. That's the benefit of dedicated servers, you can modify the gameplay for your clan. My neighbor is part of a clan (I'm not) that has two servers (BF2), one regular and one infantry.

Give it at least a good hour. There's no training, so it takes some time to understand the tactics and how the game works. It's a very rewarding game, and a ton of fun with a few friends playing.

Your crosshair will have a white X in it when your shots are on target. If you are running and gunning, your accuracy is decreased tremendously, so it pays to stop, crouch and aim at your target. If you feel the the response is a little slow coming from MW2, you can always up the sensitivity. I keep it as it, but it did take a couple hours to adjust after putting 5+ days of gaming into MW2.

Remember tho folks, Microsoft has to approve any patches by IW for the game, so that always adds time to any fix.

Glitches are a part of every game, and I'm not on IW for it as its extremely difficult to make a game like this in the short time they had to create it. However, that does not get them off for having both tactical insertion (auto spawn) and a nuke (auto win). I can't believe the whole time they were making this game, they did not realize that the tactical insertion could easily be exploited to get a nuke. Yes, get rid of Tac insertion. Its being used much more often to cheat then legitimately. Nuke is just as bad of an idea. Even when it is legitimate, as I stated before, why in the hell should you automatically win in an objective game because one person camps?

I usually play three game types... FFA, TDM, and S&D. I sometimes play hardcore too but I'm not a big fan of ground war since there just too much going on for me to enjoy (mostly killstreaks, huge campfest). But yes FFA is where it mostly occurs but also sometimes TDM. FFA usual my fav to play alone and even when I playing with a friend so I can kick his **** while playing everyone else so I'm dissapointed to see this happen.

Cool beans man, don't think I am because I haven't gotten any new friend requests in awhile. Just got back from "lunch" played 6 games, and won 5 of em. Only one I lost was by 3, he had 30 and I got 27. Best game was 30-15. Probably the best round of MW2 I have ever played. Those guys must have been pretty terrible because I am horrible at that game, lol. Look forward to playing with you.
