If I had an xbox 360, I would've bought it for Xbox. I hate the PS3 Controller! I just don't think it's worth buying a whole new system for one game.

    PS3:
    Toxis / The_Bat_Wing
    willow / willowbeast
    Lanion
    FittyFieFo/FittyFieFo
    PhantomOG / POG42868

I added Lanion and I think I tried willowbeast. I don't play that often, mostly in the morning before work actually (weird I know). Monday and Tuesday during the day will be good for me since I'll be off work.

Save for PS3 exclusives and Blu-Ray movies, if you bought a 360 you'd probably never play the PS3 again. That's all I use mine for. The XBox Live experience is vastly superior to the PS Network.

I own both and hardly ever play my PS3....its primarily a Blu-ray player. If the PS3 didn't occasionally have a good exclusive title, I'd probably sell it for an OPPO blu-ray player. Hell, if Uncharted 2 hadn't recently come out, I would have probably sold it already.

And what is it exactly you experience in XBL? (this is not meant in a mean way either) as opposed to the PSN

...still, ps3 used to only see use as a blu-ray player. but i just got GH3 on the cheap so it's now used for that every now and again.

There are more people using XBox Live so it's easier to get in any given game. Just looking at who has what on the 360 here at Club Polk as opposed to PC or PS3 pretty much tells the tale of why I prefer it. Lots of fun times with many folks from this forum over the years.

Plus the controls really are better, IMO.

So...overall I find it to be the better gaming experience.

    1. Everyone has a mic out-of-the-box.
    2. More intuitive friend list.
    3. Party chat no matter what game people are playing.
    4. Party view for Netflix and Zune video.
    5. A far more robust community, including the Xbox.com forums.
    6. Weekly videos covering the console's features and game strategies (i.e. Xbox 101, Inside Xbox, IGN's insider videos, etc.).
    7. Feedback system with live admins monitoring complaints against users.
    8. Standardized networking libraries available to game developers, meaning less problems with online play.
    9. Community events (Game With Fame, etc.) that let you play online with celebrities and/or people in the gaming industry.
    10. Indie games. Most of them are crap, but there are a few shining stars and I'm glad to see Microsoft pushing a community for developing smaller titles.

That's just off the top of my head, and I'm sure PSN has gradually caught up to at least a few of those things. That said, Xbox Live has the benefit of a few years of maturity over PSN, since it was introduced last generation. It's a more robust system, and in my opinion is worth the less than $4 a month I pay for it to have a consistently excellent experience.

But all that crap aside, I stick with 360 because I can't stand the PS3 controller. :D
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector
Elite Screens Sable 120" CineWhite screen

How's the support for older games? Do people still play them or do they disappear when the newer games hit the shelves? For PC you still find servers with full of people for games that are way past their prime.

With XBOX, can you setup your own server or do you have to play through Live?

One huge advantage XBOX has over PS3 is that it's on same hardware architecture than a PC is, and running a Microsoft OS. This means games developed for PC or XBOX are easy to port from one to another and that leads to more games for both platforms. For PS3 you need more effort to convert existing games.

still plenty of people on PS3 at any time...(200,000ish most of the time). sometimes an issue for older games though.

and less mics out there can be a good thing :). Hate playing halo 3 so much unless its with friends.

Also -- just beat the campaign. Was pretty fun, and a bit less frustrating on hardened than Call of Duty 4 was, due to no infinite spawning of enemies. Looking forward to special ops now.

I rented COD WoW for the PS3 just to check out the graphics and the PSN experience. Holy ****, those limp dick triggers are worthless. Thank God I have a 360. If I had to play FPSs on the PS3 those attachments would be a must. Screw that stupid small PS controller.

Well hopefully I figured my connection out after last night when I couldn't get into a map with you guys. I hooked up my wireless connector to my XBOX and everything seems to fly now compaired to when I was wired. When trying to connect before and the finding a match screen it would only show finding 1/50 matches to join. Now that I'm wireless when looking for a match the matches it finds climb in number of matches found instead of just 1/50. I'm thinking my cable that runs from my switch to the room where my router is has gone bad. Anyways, hopefully I can get in a match with you guys now and stay in a match.

+1. I used the Famas for most middle size maps until I got the M16. I like the standard sights on it better than the M16 tho.
