We're all waiting for these pictures Seafire. C'mon, Photoshop's not that complicated.

Just for records sake the following.People are already putting words in my mouth as if I own a LARGE speaker manufacturing company when I said before that we manufacture CUSTOM loudspeakers!.We manufacture our own designs and also custom designs for customers on a small scale. Now what is the procedure with regards to posting pics here as I have never posted pics on this forum?.Do I start a new thread to post or can I post here?

This just keeps getting better and better. You must be having a really hard time finding some pictures you can steal on the internet.

what if some 1 doesnt like what you sold them , they return it not in the condition you sold it, how do you post pictures of your product

There seems to be a pattern of sorts among some of the newer members.

I wasn't aware that posting pictures was that difficult, but .....

The process for posting pictures is quite simple Seafire. First, go to a website such as http://photobucket.com/. Create a profile there and upload some pics.

You can post your pics in this thread, or a new thread, that's your choice. When you go to reply to a post, there are several icons at the top of the text window. You're going to want to use either "insert link", or "insert image", either will work well.

On your photobucket account, you're going to need to copy the "IMG Code" text and paste it into either the "insert link" or "insert image" boxes that pop up after clicking the respective icon.

I didn't think this was that complicated...especially for a skilled engineer of high end custom loudspeakers, such as yourself. So, you should have these pictures up soon then right?

I love how the stories already starting to change little by little...

How small are we talking here? You made a pair for yourself, and one of your buddies wanted a pair too?

Don't expect any pictures anytime soon. I know I'm not. He'll find another reason to put off posting them.

What type of crossovers do you usually use in your designs.?

Sure- we use Hi End European drivers like Seas,Scanspeak Vifa etc.
Optimization software is our little secret and I don't plan on sharing it for obvious reasons ;)
Mainly first and second order Butterworth and sometimes LInkwitz ;)
Sometimes we combined Bessel with Butterworth for accurate phasing :)

Not obvious to me,mentioning the software used in no way threatens your proprieary desin work.

Interesting, most designers usually stick with one filter type believing it to offer the least amount of comprimises compared to other types. In your estimation what are the advantages and disadvantages of say a 1st order butterworth vs a 4th order Linkwitz-Riley.

Thats a rarity, without giving away secrets how in a general sense is your bessel /butterworth combo implemented?Like John Bau's?I assume then that you believe having a minimum phase response (near zero rotation)is an important aspect.

Sounds an awful lot like you're asking how to post pictures on the forum. My apologies if I took that the wrong way. Perhaps you should try wording things to reflect what you really mean.

What are the forum rules? Basically, if it doesnt have any naked people in the picture, there are no rules that would apply to someone posting a picture of some speakers on a forum that revolves around audio equipment.

1 The Dr won the race as you may know by now :)
2 There are yet more euro drivers I use, always trying to match the best driver for the application at hand.
3 The design software belongs to one of my driver suppliers. It was developed by them and includes very accurate baffle response simulation which gives results as close as 98% accuracy compared to real time anechoic chamber readings.I am therefore not at will to share this information.
4 As a rule on 2 way systems we start with 2nd order Butterworth known for it's rather flat amplitude and address phasing with reversed polarity on one driver.Lobing still remains a problem and we try and address this with careful driver placement and application. We have also used 1st order butterworth in some cases as it's very accurate with phasing and brilliant with impulse response and is in my opinion still one of the best sounding crossovers. That is if you have drivers that are perfectly matched in terms of natural frequency response and roll off.More than a two way configuration with this setup defeats the object though. Linkwitz 4th order is the best in most ways except for two things.Design complexity and it not being phase linear. Many will argue that it is not audible but my experience begs to differ. So my experience has been that this is an extremely complex crossover to get right and the few times we have used it, it was extensive and time consuming. However this is still the way to go for multiple driver configurations(3-4 way +) where lobing becomes critical.
We have combined Bessel with Linkwitz and Butterworth on Bi amped applications using Bessel on the low pass.We would then simply play with frequency overlap until we find the best phase coherency and flat amplitude response :)

Unfortunately, you let down many members expectations since you said you'll post a few pictures. I had filled in a few spots by posting other links for the time being since I understand you are not ready yet. But whenever you are ready, do post some pictures of your speaker construction. As long as you don't post the picture of the finished product, nobody can guess what it is so what do you get to lose? :)

Wow! A more pleasant reply for a change.Believe it or not my time is limited right now as I'm not in my home country for the next 6 months. So production facility pics are not at my disposal (not that they are anything to write home about as we are a small company) but never the less pics will be posted.Hopefully some in this week.I must admit however that I'm not looking forward to the barrage of negative comments that will follow and this makes me reluctant to go ahead at all! I don't recall I've made any unpleasant post for you or any other in the forum. :)

I think it would be nice to see some production pictures no matter when. But you are right - if you do post pictures, there will be comparison and criticism!

If it's negative comment, you can think about it and improve upon.

If it's a good and decent speaker, I am buying one! :)

I think you still have nothing to lose. :)

Ok I speak under correction but I could swear you had your say too.Nobody here needs to buy my product and I would never push it here, purely because of business ethics.Through the grinding of the stone, I have come to realize that there are some nice people here.Unfortunately I am one of those people that loves thinking "out of the box".Hey, I even challenge proven theories and sometimes come out on top.Obviously this train of thought causes a lot of disruption and get's me in the dog box.Through 25 years of audio I have realized that there is no other hobby with such an infinite value as audio! But hey what the hell!.That is why we love to hate each other :D

It's your attitude and lack of command of the English language. Thinking outside the box is fine if you can be rational and coherent enough to intelligently discuss topics and issues you are passionate about.
