    Loved the Adam-Allison duet.

Tough call this week; I say it is between Kris and Danny. Yes...Danny.

I thought Kris was hitting some bad notes last night. It also appears that, during the duet with Danny, that he forgot the lyrics for a moment then recovered; that or he had some really odd timing-I did'nt like it over all--It also seemed like Kris and Danny were fighting for volume-to stand out.

Danny's solo was not good for me--he just seems to keep getting to the top of his range and is belting it too often. I like him much better in the lower range. And yes that final note was definately horrid.

I thought Allison did very well tonight-I really like her voice and she has greta stage presence-like Slash said she had good rock swagger (or something like that).

I like Adam tonight as well, but it didn't wow me like other nights--He just goes over the top a bit to much. But it definately rocked.

Man when I heard Slash was the mentor and rock was the category-I seriously thought that Adam would for sure choose a GnR song. His upper range is so similar to Axl Rose. I'm not sure what value Slash added as a mentor to the show though.

Based on last night I also think Kris is going home. Then probably Danny, then its between Allison and Adam in the final.

Believe it or not, I think Slash actually got Adam to tone it down a bit.

    Eh, the show bugged me.

I've never been an Adam fan at all - I know he's got a great voice - but I just don't like what he does with it. He's just too over the top & theatrical for my taste. I'm just waaaay done w/him.

I found it interesting that they stuck Kris & Danny together for a duet, two guys who don't do rock, which the judges all too frequently pointed out when they didn't do very well together. "I know, it's just not your thing." But then they stick Adam & Allison together, two people who DO rock, & then the judges heap praises on them. Just seems like stacking the deck. Of course Adam & Allison are going to sound the best. Why not put a rocker w/a non rocker? Seems more fair to me. I'm not even close to being a conspiracy guy, but it just sorta smacked of trying to set Adam & Allison up for the final. Eh, jus sayin'.

& Yeah, what was Danny thinking? Hind sight's always 20/20, but I'd rather hear some Bad Company or Lynyrd Skynrd out him. I believe in stretching one's limits, but not breaking them.

    Tonight's vote outta be interesting...

This is a tough one because Danny seems to have a bigger fan base, and Kris took the safer route (and his mouth just twists up so goofy doing rock, well, everything). Adam, Allison, Danny with Kris going home?

Ah man, now that chit is just not fair....Paula and the other judges pass judgement on all these contestants over the years and she finally gets up on that same stage and frickin lip syncs it?!?!? It's just plain wrong!! She should be ashamed. It did sound good though.

Oh, and what the heck was wrong with Gwen tonight? She sounded awful most of the time and seemed out of breath from the very beginning. Well, at least she peformed it live.

true.. Gwen Stefani sounded bad.. but it was really due in part to the mixing of the music. she was much louder than the entire band. if I was here.. i would have punched someone in the face for that. It was not No Doubt's best moment that's for sure.. but mostly due to the poor sound mix.

is that Danny guy ****? just asking.

Personally, I thought Kris did very well with "Come Together" and in fact, I thought he won the week. It wasn't the best song for him, but he pulled it off.

Adam is unique, I'll give him that. But he's way over the top with the theatrics -all the mugging, sneering and over-emoting! ...And that tomcat yowl, every...freakin'...WEEK! ...Puh-leeeze!

Danny picked a bad song for him. I'd say he's lucky to survive. But he has many fans, including me.

I could barely hear Alison over all the noise. Somebody had to go, so I guess since the judges can't stop salivating over Adam for five seconds, and America really loves Danny and Kris, she was up against it. She'll be OK, though, with that big voice.

Yeah, I thought Paula's lip-synching was lame. She also seemed to be using the Cher-effect (you know the perfect-pitch machine)...I'm tired of that, too.

Gwen reminded me of The Boss at the Superbowl halftime show: all out of breath from the runnin' around and kinda just sloppin' through the song...Also lame.

My crystal ball failed me. I guess I underestimated the problem of Allison failure to "connect" with the voters. Out of 64 Millions votes, if 60 percents of those are teenagers under the age of 21, and out of those population, 80 percents are girls who voted on average five times per idols per week, hmmm, Allison's fate was sealed.

It's a popularity contest more than a singing competition.

ok, now that Lil and Anoop were dismissed, should we just map out the rest of the season?

    Next week: Matt
    in 2 weeks: Allison
    in 3 weeks: Kris
in the final: Adam and Danny, and the crown goes to Adam.

As much as Allison can sing, she can't connect to the voters. Hence, my prediction is that she would be gone before the final.

so, need to revise the order a little bit.

Allison, in her duet with Adam, kicked arse on the Foghat song, "Slow Ride"; she can sing, she can belt out a tune with the best of them, and she actually commands the stage when she's on; not an easy thing for anyone, but especially for someone 17 !

Kris ? About as exciting as watching dry spaghetti noodles soak up water .... with the stove off.

Simon: "Do you think you should still be here ?"
    Kris: "Well ....idunnokindofsortof....hadfunsortofkindofneattosingstuff ...andwhatnot....youknow.....gollygeewillikers......"

I took the liberty of paraphrasing his answer, but ....
