It's actually warming up. -18C with the windchill at -30C. Sure beats -44C before the windchill a week and a half ago. That's -47.2F. No heavy coat today.
With temps like that you'd expect a boom in newborns in the next 9 mths -
i just wish this brutal cold of -30 -40 would spend a week in the Colorado rockies that would do much to kill the beetle plage that is killing off the Douglas fur higher altitude forests.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

Pretty cold, but it's time for me to head out to bowling... but then, it's only down to around 6 above right now. They're not calling for it to get much colder overnight, but we all know how that goes.Ludicrous gibs!

23 f here but windchill is -1. It's effin cold and I'm already tired of it.
Winter has it's moments like a nice snow, Christmas but after that it sucks.

I had to slum around DT Mpls. today and yea it was cold. Black ice almost got me on Hwy 62 just before the Cedar exit on an overpass. Bunch of cars piled up, I was able to successfully re-route, but got that oh **** feeling for a few seconds.

I dont understand how you guys live in that weather. It's almost 60* here now. In the mornings, it been in high 20s and 30s lately.
I'm hoping after tonite we wont have any more 20 degree weather for the year!

You know how in the summer in TX, you can't go outside for more than 5 minutes without heat stroke, and woudln't dream of having a building without air conditioning?
Same thing, except opposite. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Global warming is only affecting California and Arizona, or it seems like it. We are basking in high 80's this week.
I need to find a state that do 50 degrees F with 30 percent humidity all year long. suggestion?I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -

Big difference. I can sleep walk outside in Texas and not die from freezing.
I'll take my 100* summers over your sub 0* winters any time!

Move to San Francisco. Or the Pacific Northwest (they had some aberrant weather this year but for the most part it doesn't swing that far)If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

Actually I wonder how many can truthfully say that have experienced -80 or colder not wind chill but as an ambient temperature. All I can say from my experience at those temperatures is that strange things happen.
Transmission fluid tends to jell up while your driving and can actually bring a car to a standstill. If you were to take a cup of coffee and throw it up in the air it would freeze before it hit the ground and make a noise similar to a gunshot. All kinds of odd things happen and none of them are good
Last week at this time it was -45 here, this week it rose to 45 above, a 90 degree difference.
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -
It's 9 deg right now and only going up to 19. It's very effin cold for Phila. I'm really getting tired of it. At least when it's really hot, you can get cooled off but cold gets you in your bones.Dan

Who ever divided the border needed a slap up side the head. The border should have gone north and south not east to west, that way we'd have some warm spots too. Heck Florida is almost another province to us as all our old people move down there 6mths of the year.

LOL 60 degrees warmer than here
we are at -21 but will break 0 for the first time in over 90 hours
thats -21F not C a very BIG difference in temps between F & C
32 F equals 0 C so -20c is cold but nowhere near frigid -
Yeah, it's 44 here in Tucson as well.
They're saying 70's for the next 10 days.
