    My order said 'up to 4 weeks' - I'm there now and still waiting.

    I have my amp back but need either bare or bananas at the amp side to try the AQ Type 4s.

    So...if I'm near the top...just bump me down again :-(

    Yup - those are them.

    And I need to confess a mistake.

    My order with audioadvisor was for a set of these adapters AND a set of the bare-to-banana terminators. The banana terminators are the item on back order - not the spade to banana adapters.

    I am probably going to call audioadvisor and get them to do a split shipment so I can get the adapters.

    Sorry for the confusion...

    I'm good - keep me on the list after cambir.

    I called audioadvisor and had them split my shipment. Adapters will ship tomorrow - and I added a pair of Black Mamba II ICs at their special price -that's going in between my AVR and Carver amp.

    This is getting expensive! :p

    Maybe I should have someone who really knows what they are doing replace the existing connections. Maybe bananas all around? Or maybe putting connections on that can be easily changed out. Just an idea, and maybe a bad one!

    I'm still undecided here now...I really don't know if I want to spend 20 bucks on adapters to demo these...especially seeing as I probably wouldn't have any use for the adapters afterwards.

    If you wanted to change them to bananas though...I'd definitely be in still.

    Maybe some of those connectors that allow you to switch between spades or bananas would be a good idea...like you said.

    I may just end up getting those adapter things...I'm sure I'll run into another situation in the future where they'll come in handy. Maybe I can find something else to add a little weight to the order...

    Does anyone know what size the spades are on those cables? Leave me on the list...screw it...I'm getting the adapters. I figure they'll be handy to have around anyway.

    I'm gonna get em from parts express and weigh down the order with some Deoxit, that I've been needing to get anyway.

    I keep a box of doodads, thingamabobs, whatchamacallits, and odds and ends next to my rig....and find that I'm always diving in to get just the right dongle to hook up or adapt Box A to Box B...well - when I get my spade to banana adapters I will... :)

    Figures...now I can't seem to find what I need at parts express, which means I'll have to go with the ones from audio advisor, but they don't have the Deoxit that I need...which means that I'll have to place two separate orders...aaaghhh!!!

    I was going to try to find something at PE that I could use for this, but also use on my current speaker cables after I'm done with this demo, and now I don't know if anything they have will work like that or not...

    Oh well...I think there are still a few people ahead of me in the line, so I've got a little time to figure it out I guess.

    Not looking to high jack this thread but I figured some of you could help me with a question on these cables.

    I am looking to try a pair of the Audioquest - Type - 4 Speaker Cable under the no frills offer.

    I am pretty sure the spades will work on my Polk SDA 1Cs but I am not sure about spades working on my Carver TFM-45. Have any of your tried the 1/4 spades on a Carver TFM series amp?

    OK Here is the latest
    The cables are on there way to me. Once I get them back I'll have them terminated so they will be easily used by the majority of members. Right now thinking about Vampire bananas from Sonic Craft all around.
    If anyone has other suggestions please let me know.

    Here is how I see the updated List
    They should be re-terminated and ready to go easily by the end of the month.
    If we can get some ideas on dates that work best for each persons evaluation and live with them this will not drag on. I'm thinking about a one week minimum and a two week max. If any of you guys have any suggestions, lets hear them!

    You're re-terminating them? That's awesome man. Very nice gesture.:D That should make things go a bit more smoothly.

    Why is it that so much new equipment won't accept spades? Doesn't make sense to me...:confused:


    That should be about perfect timing for me. I've got a few other upgrades on the back burner right now, and they should be taken care of by then. I want to have my system in top shape for this demo if possible.:)

    NJ - go ahead and take me out of line and bump everybody up a slot. I've been too busy lately and don't think I can give the AQs the time the deserve. Besides, it might make me want to change cables...my upgraditis is currently in remission and I just can't handle another setback like that.

    Ahh! I can't wait to try this stuff out...I've heard so much about how awesome it is...the anticipation is killing me!:p

    I'm just hoping I can have my 2-channel rig half-**** setup by the time I get them. That way I can give them a shot in both my HT and the 2-ch. rigs.
