Got the cables today in the mail. God these things are massive. Already noticing an increase in detail. Need to play around a bit more with them. Maybe get up enough energy to do an a/b with my ratshack cables. Unfortunately, I also got a shipment of new vinyl from george daniel as well today, so I'm listening to some stuff I'm not familiar with. I did spin some Tori Amos earlier, which is where by more detailed comment came from.

Damnit, am I going to have to drop ~$300 on a pair of speaker cables now?????
    Ludicrous gibs!

Type 4's can be had for $120 a pair all day long.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Ben's right about availability in the $100 to $125. range. I think I paid $75.
I also have a pair of AQ Mammoths which are truly massive.

The cables are in central Pa for the orgy. You may want to sanitize them when you get them.
nadams hopefully will send them to you when they are done. Send him a PM telling him where you want them sent.
    Thanks

The line up seems to have gotten all switched around.

I'm in no big hurry, so go ahead and send them along to Muncybob first.

I don't want to get out of this without any shipping or something, but I've only had them for a week, and am planning on handing them to Bob when he leaves on sat, just FYI. thanks for understanding, curt

If that's the case, then by all means give them to Bob next. It would seem the logical thing to do if he's going to be at your meet.

Have fun at the meet by the way!:)

I'd like to take these next if it's possible. My rig is sounding incredible at the moment. I've temporarily got a Dodd ELP for the next 3-4 weeks, and I'd love to get the T4's while I've got the Dodd if possible.

My original thought when offering these cables for trial was to get them in the hands of members who use regular wire. My thought was they would have a chance to try the next step up the ladder and hear for themselves that quality cable do make a difference.
There is no problem with what we've done so far but lets see if we can get some guys mixed in who currently use generic wire and see what they think.
If anyone has any constructive thoughts please share them with us.

That's my situation. I'm currently using 14 awg Stinger zip cord, which is nothing special. IIRC it cost about $.30 per foot. I'm definitely looking forward to trying some speaker wire that's a few notches above generic.

So, did muncybob ever get these, or does nadams still have them?

I just received them Wednesday. Plan to play with them this weekend. I currently am using 12 awg generic wire so I can make the above mentioned comparison. A month or so ago I bought a generic pair of bi-wires so I will also compare them. Plan to use Vandersteen 2CE for the ride.

I would love to get in on this too if at all possible. I am currently using some "generic" 12 or 14 awg best buy cable eventhough it is supposed to be their top of the line stuff. Didn't know any better when I bought my HT stuff 3 years ago or so, so I bought the Rocketfish stuff, it's not bad but would love to try something a few steps up the food chain. Throw me in the mix whenever, I live in Washington state so if they ever make it out west, I would appreciate a demo.

Finally got to play with them a little last night. Want to give them some more time on Wed and Thrs night and will pack them up for Curt on Friday......need a pm Curt!.
Now, I know my ears are not what they use to be and I have some high freq. loss in one...but I think I was expecting more out of these.
First thing I did was be sure my speakers are balanced with the SPL meter(since the wife rearranged the furniture yet again!). Then swapped out the zips for the 4's and noticed slightly over a 1db increase on the meter. They are much sexier looking than the zip cord I'm using for sure and the nanners seated a little more firmly on both the amp and speakers. I believe the top end opened up a bit for me on my Vandy 2CE's in both 2.1 and 2.0 mode. Started out running the Vandys with my sub and I really had to concentrate to hear much of a low end difference...but, in just pure 2 channel mode I did notice a difference in the low end, seemed to "smooth out" the bass in the Vandys is best I can describe it. Next I plan to compare them to the generic bi-wires I picked up earlier this year that have 12awg going to the woofers and 16 awg to the tweets/mids.

    JUST A REMINDER

THE CABLES ARE DIRECTIONAL BE SURE TO HOOK THEM UP PROPERLY.

I do wonder if you could/would really notice a difference in SQ if connected backwards.

    Muncybob-You've got a PM.

I can't wait to get my hands on them.:)

I've often wondered about directional wires...I have my doubts about whether or not it would actually make a difference which way it's connected. I can see it with certain wires, such as MIT's, with the network boxes, or the AQ DBS cables. I may have to try the cables both ways to see if I can detect any differences.

I received the cables earlier today!:D

I've had them hooked up for a few hours of listening. My initial impressions are very good.

I started out by listening to a few songs with my 14 awg cheapo zip cord, then swapped in the Type 4's and listened to the same tracks. There was an immediate noticeable difference. The first/main thing I noticed, was how much more laid back the highs were. The RD0-194's in my SDA 2A's, are just a tad on the bright side for my usual tastes. They're sounding a lot better though with the T4's.

I'll write up a better review about them after I spend some more time with them.

I can't understand how anyone can't hear differences in cables...

Thanks, Drew, for the chance to demo these cables.:D

Hey, so I'm reading all the hype on these things and was wondering if I could get in on these? I'm running regular speaker wire, but by any means I do NOT expect to get a demo on these considering Im still very new to this forum. My test for these would be on my newly acquired SDA 1C's I purchased from dracoskeep (Polkie member who happens to be local). If I did by any means got a chance I'd say give me an extra week away from them as I'm waiting for an SACD/DVD/ player to come from rdb2001 and for me to purchase my pre/pro and amp!
