    He is right.

    99% of the mains I've seen are aluminum. I'm sure you can run copper instead, I think you'd need something like 4/0-3C twist with an aluminum runner to carry it. I'm pretty sure you'd also HAVE to get the power company to do it, too, for insurance. That's gonna be pricey...

    never seen 4/0 copper, I pulled aluminum to the sub-panel for the HT room you heard Mike, the amp line in the shed comes from the same sub-panel.

    Works great, sounds great.

    DJ7--your receptacle is loose and it does not produce any current.

    I see it all the time. They don't use much aluminum industrially anymore...
