Me & SComp ran into the same damn thing with my VTL. Turned out to be faulty cables. Had me $hitting bricks and had the repair center (Rich :)) scratching his head.

Glad it all worked out Joe. I know exactly how you felt / feel.

I found a deal, 60% off on the Ionic breeze. You know how expensive those are. Well after a couple of days it started buzzing, like it was shorting out. Returned it. 2 days later I found out it was only alittle dirty and it is supposed to buzz when its dirty. Felt like an idiot, because I lost such a great deal, and no more sale...

Tom the connections were good and nothing was shorting. It happened to be a bad IC causing the processor to wig out.

Since you have created all the fuss on the forum OVER NOTHING...your punishment will be to listen to 12 straight hours of Michael Bolton. Your only out during that time will be to get the out sledgehammer...and smash YOUR NADs...and the music will stop. Trust me...it will be worth it.

If I didn't make this fuss, and had a lot of people here throwing in their 2 cents, I would have never received the correct solution to my problem.

NAD is not helping. They told me today to ship it back to them, I promptly advised them that problem, thanks to the folks on the Polk Forum, was resolved.

I thought it was odd that changing analog IC's would fix a DSP error.

Sorry your having such trouble. My luck was very similar with NAD back in the late 80's. I will never even consider their products again. If by some miracle they actually fix it, sell it immediately.

Joe, I can't believe you're having so much trouble with the T773. Mines been fabulous for over 3yrs now (knock on wood). NAD is known for their great CS so hopefully they'll take good care of you. It's just such a big pain in the **** having to deal with all of this ****. Keep the faith!

    Thanks.:)

The thing is that the DSP error just showed up today. I had the DSP assbly replaced in October. This symptoms of this problem are way past the symptoms of the DSP board being bad. It is not just the digital inputs that are being affected; it is all inputs.

As I said the NAD authorized service center could find nothing wrong. That is why I am thinking the problem is here. Not to mention the fact that the service center did not replicate my home situation. They simply put a dvd and tester on unit and let it run for 3 or 4 days. I was told that they don't have a DVR which for some reason I think may have something to do with this issue. Comcast's DVRs are very unstable atleast the model I have used the past two years are.

I kept telling them that it would start acting up when the digital signal was paused or muted then upon reactivating it, the unit would fail. Very odd problem.

However today when I powered up the NAD it was just doing the buzzes is bursts of threes. Digital, analog, radio etc. It's almost like the processor is trying to sync up with the inputs.

well electronics are not perfect.. just like a car for instance... a car can go down just by using it.. so can electronics.. i think we've become so accoustomed to having them work correctly when we turn them on each and every time..

stuff happens, parts fail, etc, etc.

I have had my fair share of gear not work... it's almost to be expected that at some point something is going to fail, or you're going to blow some **** up, eventually.

How many people in here have never had a problem with some piece of their gear not working as it should? I'm sure nearly every one at some point.

sorry you're having problems Joe, but it just as well could be any other brand name of gear. I don't think NAD is any better or worse in terms of product realiability goes

Al this is a new piece of gear. I realize the mortality rate in infancy on electronic gear is high but it was repaired once and it only lasted two months after that.
