    Great.

Janmike - That's a great question but I'm not sure what the border relationship is in regards to retail. It sucks for private users so it must be bargained for large scale commerce or addressed by NAFTA. I have no idea of the particulars.

    There's a hard question for you Russell....lol.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Way to promo yourself in the process Sal. Such a selfless act.

I'm ashamed actually, but wtf right, it's a plus. Oh well, still plenty of good deals to come for polkies on the ball.

Well, for anything new I order directly from Polk Audio Canada because there are no stores in the general vicinity that sell Polk. The general vicinity being 900+ miles.

I'll throw that at Russell but I would imagine that those logistics need to be worked out in regards to online retail. Russell would know more than I in this regard.

Russell - Your name would be cooler if it was Mark but that's ok.

What are your thoughts on offering the the "odd" speakers, in regards to finish and style, and "prototype" style speakers to the forum only? I've seen a bunch at Polk HQ over the years and some of them are pretty cool. They have unique finishes and I bet the Polkies would love to eat them up.

Can't help you on the name...My Mom named me Russell.

We plan on offering some special one of a kind (not to let the cat out of the bag) signature speakers with exotic finishes, personally voiced, and signed by Matt Polk. We could offer these first to the forum. What do you think?

The forum first would be definately be cool. Lots of members would be happy.

I'm not buying any unless they come with a youtube video of Matt Polk signing them withe serial numbers visable and a CoA!(kidding...)

Well who is going to be the first to give this account some credibility? Are you folks going to include shipping to Canada?

We have such a difficult time right now getting products into Canada without adjusting the price because of the current restrictioins in place. We'll have to design something specifically for Canada to make this work. Sorry I wish I could change that. But, if you live close to Windsor or Detroit we could ship there.

I don't blame you and that's a great idea and would be a pretty cool conversation piece to show Matt signing your speakers. We could arrange that I'm sure! I like it!

I think that the idea is stellar and the response will be ten fold. The signature comment is real cool as you'll find alot of us get off on that kind of thing. It's akin to your favorite rock star signing a CD.

Russell, I was kidding about the youtube idea and CoA for the speakers signed by Matt Polk. I was just going along with what society demands of anything with some sort of significant figure signature on it since there are so many dishonest people today.

No need for one from Matt Polk :D

I think the best way to sell signature speakers on the forum would be to first set a price then to take all interested parties, have a lottery, create a list, offer them to the first person on the list, should they pass then it goes to person #2, etc.

Actually, the signature speaker's signed by Matt is the plan. We are working on some things now! Not sure how we will promote or sell, We're thinking of adding a custom speaker shop to the ebay store. This stuff would be limited quantities of no more than a dozen pairs. We are using a current design modified (price not an issue) for the serious discerning listener. They would be expensive but a true representation of what's possible. However, let me say we always offer a fair value in comparision.

What are your thoughts on something like this? We are quite excited about an exclusive speaker (s) like this. We would need to figure out a way to set aside a few for the forum.

Curious, when you say a true representation of what's possible, do you mean taking something like LSi components and putting them in a spiffier fancy cabinet or something completely new? I.e. new crossover design, new tweeters not used in other speakers, etc.

And when you say expensive....expensive is a relative term, expensive for me is cheap for a high roller like Russ(;)), what's the estimated price range and are they floorstanders/bookshelf speakers?

Sorry for the 30 question, but now I'm curious.

Just got a new computer! the other one crashed. To answer your question we will do a little bit of everything you mentioned in many cases starting with an existing design and making it as good as we can without price being a barrier.

Pricing could be double of the normal design. Expensive is relative, many can and will afford these but, it probably will be cost prohibitive some. Well worth it however..

BTW, our systems for operating an ebay site are mostly in place now (thank God I work with smart people that think better than me!) and you will start to see a larger assorment of products in the next couple of days.

Russel, with this ebay store going well, and reading all the comments. what do you know about the new lsi speakers coming out in 2008? any hints or clues or facts you could give out? i hope they will not be like the new vm ones, or the new rti a's... not to say they are bad, but i represent my lsi9 all around with pride among the kef, and b&w owners (price for sound per speaker diminishes in gap at that level). looking forward to upgrading and bringing in some b&w owners.

That's not a question for Russell, or this thread. There is no new LSi coming out in 2008, and nothing is even slated thus far for 2009. Thanks for representing, as the LSi offer an incredible value at their pricepoint - but it really has nothing to do with Polk Direct eBay sales.

    Cheers,
    Russ

hmm. that is odd. with the lsi going on sale, clearanced actually, one would believe the new lsi is coming. i confirmed this with a polk rep when i contacted polk, he stated will be come out 2nd qtr 08, and will be on polkaudio within the next 45 days. the question, does involve polk direct ebay, for it sales polk audio, with the lsi going down in price, expectancy of it being sold on the ebay store could be an attractive bargain.

Who is has LSi's on clearance, other than Fry's selling off left only speakers (for some reason), and beat up floor models? Who did you contact at Polk, and if you did, why ask Russell?

Anyway, start a new LSi thread - lets keep this one on topic.
