Hi Polk Guy's

I wanted you Guy's to be the first to know about our new web presence. We opened a Polk Audio store today on Ebay.

http://stores.ebay.com/Polk-Audio-Direct

First let me introduce myself. I am Russell Woolfolk and I have been with Polk for 5 years working on the sales side, most recently the Mid Atlantic with Polk retailers and salespeople. Today I am challenged with finding new markets to promote our awesome products. Ebay is now one of our new markets for products that we typically would not sell to our retailers or dealers. This is a true plus for the end user of Polk products. On average you will find discounts of 30% or much greater, in some instances 60% off of retail. Plus, many items are up for auction.

The site is called Polkaudio direct. You will find some new stuff, discontinued (still great stuff), returned, and slightly Blemished goods. These all are covered by warranties with varying coverage depending on the status.

I invite you to visit the site, share the site with your friends and family, and take advantage of these deals that we will have on the Polk direct site.

I also solicit your feedback on any idea's or suggestions you have on making this a better place to get great deals on Polk.

BTW, my direct email address is Rwoolfolk@polkaudio.com and my phone number is 704 649-5920.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

Looks good! I hope to purchase some car speakers for my wife's new ride in the fairly near future so it's nice to know I have a new option. I'm glad Polk decided to do this, it's just another way that Polk is trying to reach the masses. Great job guys.

EXCELLENT idea! From what I have read in a lot of the "karma" posts, people felt Polk needed to get more market sources, especially for your upper models like LSi. I love it, I just picked up some rti8's new on discount but I’m sure I'll need more speakers as I finish off my casual HT spot. Very good move! I'll check it weekly for sure!

Call me paranoid and cautions, but can this be verified as legitimate in any way? Russell is a new member with 1 post and no ratings history on e-Bay.

One doesn't just sign up on the forum and get the title "sales guy". It's legit.

Very cool! It's about time! Much better than that damn myspace idea!

Polk controls the titles we are given under our name, we don't. Therefore it's legit!:)

Here in the bay area I have purchased maybe 6 or 7 pairs of R30's for family members/friends at Frys for 49 dollars each ( They make you buy a pair ) so say 98 bucks for the pair.

Have gotten the R50's before for 69 each at Frys as well....It does seem really high for the R30's ? Its got to be the shipping that gets the price so high...I am sure Frys buys thousands of pairs shipped by freight.....

Thanks for clearing that up guys 'n' gals! In that case, this is wonderful news. This could become as popular as the Harman Audio and Acoustech stores! I think Polk Audio is a great brand for this type of outlet.

Yup, it's the real deal. And some of the deals on eBay won't be "rock bottom" prices, but still great deals.

Great Suggestion! We've lowered the price on the R30's to 99pr... Keep them coming!

BTW, soon we will be offering limited production runs of special finishes and exclusive speakers that we don't offer anywhere else.

Very cool. I do a lot of eBay shopping (as do many others) and this looks to be a very good avenue for Polk to market their products. I've added Polkaudio direct to my "Favorite Sellers" list and will definitely keep an eye on what all is listed.

    Kudos for the good idea.

Thanks for the sticky status upgrade, -justin-!

Russell, pardon me for ever doubting your authenticity, but now that we know you're the real deal, how about spare parts too, such as drivers, tweeters and grilles? You know some of us get maniacal about our gear and like to replace things when they're not 100%!

There is now! Russell is obviously very much on top of things! Have a great first day (and weekend) on e-Bay Russell (and team ... unless they make you do everything, including licking the postage stamps, on your own!).

That's an awesome deal on LSi9's (my fav! what I'm using now). The inventory on eBay is taken from a limited stock. Today we don't have LSi9's that meet the criteria for the eBay store. They rarely ever break so will likely be a blimished pair when available on eBay. Cool thing though, is when they do appear we'll get you an killer deal with a Polk backed warranty.

Stay tuned I'm sure you'll find something that you can't live without. :)

I agree 100% on this one. I was in a marketing study by Polk about a year ago and one of the things I was raving about was that Polk never marketed their "higher end" gear in the high end market. I felt that Polk never got the respect they should have received in the high end market for their high end products.

I was at a very high end boutique about a month ago and was shocked to see two of Polk's speakers on display there. It gave me a warm and fuzzy.
