Do a google search for chip amp and you will see what I am talking about. A while back class D amps may have been called chip amps, but after 47 Labs released their Gaincard and all the gainclones started coming out the term changed.

I will agree with you on the Sunfire, it is not the best amp out there even though I did enjoy my time with it. I have tried a good amount of amps over the last 6 months and it is one of my least favorites. Another FYI, the Sunfire isn't class D, it is A/AB design with a very different kind of power supply...which is where the efficiency is.

I have never been a fan of Class D amps until I tried a icepower amp. Definitely changed my mind...so much so that I am replacing my Cinenova with a amp that is 2x the power at less then 10% the size.

Thanks for the info. I just did a little reading on Sunfire, and Outlaw amps. It appears both use high speed switching power supplies compared to traditional transformer-cap style.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

    olilugo,

I am currently using a pair of Nuforce 8.02 monoblocks.

I have a pair of EVS 500Ms coming in the mail which I hope to be my final amps. They are ~550-600wpc icepower amps using the 1000asp module.

My pre-pro for surround sound is a B&K Reference 50. For 2 ch it is a Promitheus Audio Reference 3 TVC.
