89% on rottentomatoes - not too bad for a Bay flick. And the new Camaro looks unbelievable. Nice to see they decided to fit it with an independent suspension (Ford are you listening?)

yes I saw the movie today. Actually just 1 hour ago I got back from a Private screening.
the Movie is very very good. I think it's going to be the Summers Hit. They really did a great job on the Story. the Acting was pretty good as well. Alot of punch lines for comedy and alot of companies selling things which you willl catch on when you see it.
Also you will see the New Carmaro.... man I just want one now. I wanted it when I saw the pic's of it but After seeing it in the Movie, man what a sweet ride.
Do youself a favor and go see it when it comes out. It's awesome.

Just got back from seeing the movie. I went into it with EXTREMELY HIGH expectations and I must say the movie exceeded them. Funny, great action and the sound was incredible. A MUST SEE AND A MUST OWN!!!!!

I've always been a die-hard TF fan (seriously) I saw the opening midnight showing. I was not disappointed, but I do agree there was too much cute humor in the movie, and I got tired of listening to the character Sam's voice yelling. There definitely should have been more character development with the decepticons, but what can you do in 2 hours? I thought the Scorponok scene was one of the best.
I give it a 8/10 -
Transformers have always been based on GM cars.
I was thinking about this and I just cannot remember that many GM vehicles. I have not bee a TF fan for many years, so I do not know what the 90's present TF vehicles are but here is I can remember from the original series:
Autobots:
Prime, Semi Truck (probably not GM)
Jazz - Porsche 911
Bumblebee - VW Beetle
Sideswipe and Suntreeker - Twin Lambos
Red Alert - Ambulance, probably Ford
Huffer, Gears, Brawn - all small trucks/suvs of some type, not all GM
Hoist - heavy equipment
Decepticons:
Not many car vehicles, planes, guns, tape decks and tapes

Just got back. Was it cool ? Yes. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Was it everything I hoped it would be? I would have to say NO. But still very fun movie.
And a question for those who have seen it. Was the little mean-**** one that turn into a CD player and caused so much trouble supposed to be Soundwave?Casey

Just got home. WOW, this movie kicked ****! Spider-who? Pirates what? This is what a summer blockbuster is supposed to be. Kicks **** in the first 5 minutes and keeps going. I never got bored and thought it was well paced.
The new Camaro is one tough **** looking ride!
Autobots...ROLLOUT!

I loved it.
I dont care who didnt like it. If you didnt like it - you are old. Sorry.
I loved every bit of it and then some. Going back tommorow - Collectors Edition DVD is a must and give me the game!! Jesus H Christ - I'm still pumped. I could go see it again...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
F/x is absolutely amazing. Great/fun flick. Tries to balance between action/thriller and family movie so there's alot of humor in it plus Optimus Prime caters to little kids. So far, I think this is the blockbuster of the year. I had Jazz as a kid so I wished he had transformed into a more muscular car but glad to see him onscreen.
This movie rocked. -
I'M getting ready to see it again. We are leaving in a hour.Dan

Unbelievable flick. Absolutely jaw-dropping. This is what summer movies are all about.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

How young is too young for a kid to see this, for you folks who have seen it?

I don't have children... but the two parents in front of me brought their 6 and 7 yr old.. and in some places during the movie.. i could see both parents squirming in their seats.. because the content was to adult in nature.
one of them was during a movie preview for the new Adam Sandler movie where he plays one half of a **** male couple.. i could sense that a few parents were uncomfortable during that preview...
the movie itself has some topics like masturbation, and a few other jokes. but i don't remember any cussing though.. unless i blocked it out.. but i don't think there was any.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

We saw it yesterday with our 7 year old boy (who does know transformers).
The movie was a truly good action flick. Well worth seeing and well worth buying. After reading every review before this one before I went, it lived up to those expectations.
It did feel like an action flick. Meaning some of the plot items were just friggen odd and made no sense (like let’s take the battle to the middle of the city where hundreds of people will die). I also go the feeling that parts were majorly cut out. Ask yourself what happened to Starscream???
My son loved it, there was a little content and language that worried me but it’s not like he doesn’t hear it from kids at school.
Seems like the end is leading itself to TF2. Especially when its bringing in such big bucks.Testing

I would say it depends on the kid. I chose not to take my 5 year old daughter, she wouldnt have dug it at all.Testing

Sounds like you left a little too early. During the credits, Starscream is shown flying off into space from Earth. -

Uhhh...as far as I remember, the Decepticons never cared where their battles were fought and the Autobots always made an effort to protect the humans while fighting the Decepticons, often to the detriment of themselves and the loss of the battle.
And if I had a franchise that has been running as long as Transformers has (the comic books date back farther than the TV series and toys), I'd be cashing in too. I'm just glad that for once they didn't butcher the plot lines of the Transformers story and only dressed it up to fit a more movie friendly format. I.e.: The All-spark idea vs. the Decepticons looking for Energon to power Cybertron. The Energon storyline wouldn't fit well into a movie, it would drag on and on and pretty much get old before the end of the movie let alone sequels.
The movie was an action movie but it did require you to pay attention to little details and hinted at a further story line to move in to a sequel. Like at the end of the battle, the thing that Prime grabs in his hand is extremely important to the overall story as well as some of the things that happen in the credits. Yes the Starscream moment was a glaring hint at a sequel but it was honestly being set up the entire movie.
I'm just glad they got Peter Cullen to do the voice of Optimus Prime. It just wouldn't be the same without him.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
