Saw the movie. It was ok but a little too hyped if you ask me. What really bugged me while watching it was the way hollywood is doing there fight scenes these days. During the city battle there was so much brawling going on you couldn't even see the fight. It's just extended scenes of thrashing metal and it all seemed confusing to me. I'd would of liked it better if there were more U.S military decepticon battles. The A-10 scene was awesome:cool:

Uhhh...as far as I remember, the Decepticons never cared where their battles were fought and the Autobots always made an effort to protect the humans while fighting the Decepticons, often to the detriment of themselves and the loss of the battle.

And if I had a franchise that has been running as long as Transformers has (the comic books date back farther than the TV series and toys), I'd be cashing in too. I'm just glad that for once they didn't butcher the plot lines of the Transformers story and only dressed it up to fit a more movie friendly format. I.e.: The All-spark idea vs. the Decepticons looking for Energon to power Cybertron. The Energon storyline wouldn't fit well into a movie, it would drag on and on and pretty much get old before the end of the movie let alone sequels.

The movie was an action movie but it did require you to pay attention to little details and hinted at a further story line to move in to a sequel. Like at the end of the battle, the thing that Prime grabs in his hand is extremely important to the overall story as well as some of the things that happen in the credits. Yes the Starscream moment was a glaring hint at a sequel but it was honestly being set up the entire movie.

I'm just glad they got Peter Cullen to do the voice of Optimus Prime. It just wouldn't be the same without him.

It was the Miliatary/Autobots idea to take the cube to the city :)

I thought it was near the perfect summer blockbuster. Almost an Anti-Chick flick.

Giant fighting robots, big explosions, a bad girl that happens to be damn hot, etc. etc.

A fun flick to veg out and eat food that is bad for you while watching...

go watch it - you won't regret it....

I just came back from this and let me say...I LOVED it! Was it perfect? No. But it was so awesome to see the Transformers. They were spectacular! Tons of eye candy and TOTALLY Michael Bay - especially the second half. Very entertaining and fun. well done.

Just got back from Laughin to eat and watch Transformers. I knew 7-7-07 was a lucky day. I won $70 on Black Jack which covered dinner and the movie. My girlfriend won $1600 on the dollar slots on her first $20. Sweet! That pays for the new Onkyo and then some.
Movie was awesome, can't wait for the DVD. As good as a summer movie can get. Loved the new THX trailer, with the internal car.
I must be spoiled by SVS because i have yet to be at a movie theatre that even has a subwoofer......... I mean come on!

So if Bumblebee could shoot himself from the POS camaro into the new Camaro driving by, why couldn't he do something similar when his existing 'body' was in disrepair?

If the voice of Optimus was the original from the cartoon, I can understand why it sounded off. I think they could have gotten someone with a better voice IMO (considering the guys age). Even the movie announcer would have been good..........

when bumblebee was a pos camaro, it was part of a disguise, going from pos camaro to new camaro was a camoflauge choice of a healthy bumblebee. when he got effed up, healing himself from real, not fake damage not to easy I guess

I think one of the keys to Tranformers 2 was said at the beginning of the movie. Something like "this is some kind of alien self regenerating metal". Back when the marines were hauling the tail of that sand transformer.

LOL, I think the main key to any sequal is how much $ the first one brought in. Expect many sequals to this one.

i saw it over the weekend...i agree it was a great action flick....even people that didin't follow the transformers as a child would be able to understand the plot as it really didn't have much to do with the comic book/cartoon.....unless you consider all spark=energon.....i also think there will be a sequel, as megatron needs to come back as galvatron and i don't remember seeing starscream leave the fight....oh yeah, and what happened to scorponok?? he just crawled back into the sand and nothing was said of him again.....i hope the sequel will bring in more transformers and megan fox again (she's super hot).....i just hope they didn't set the bar too high on this one and the 2nd one will disappoint...i think that the idea of transforming was new to everyone too and that it was fresh and "cool" to see in a movie, but in the 2nd one, people will already be used to it and not so amazed by it....

regardless, this movie was highly entertaining and of course i will most definitely go back for seconds

    Saw it today -

I really tried to like this movie- I really did. And while the 1st half was very impressive (read: actual plot), the last half was typical mish-mash Michael Bay and worthless new-hollywood fluff.

Will someone tell Bay that it takes alot more than classical music mixed in with a little heavy on the slo-mo to create actual drama?

Oh and another thing, Prime was waaaaaay to preachy.
    Spectacularly average imo.

Really enjoyed this one. Going in based on Michael Bay's track record helped lower my expectations- so anything above that would be a bonus.

However , I forgot about Spielberg as excecutive producer which really added the "wow" factor to this movie.

Thumbs up all the way, the best so far this summer !

I'd say most of the "wow" was Bay himself, not Spielberg. After all, Bay does better. Last film of Spielberg's that impressed me was Jurassic Park, since then, average at best when it comes to the "wow" factor. Yet Bay with Pearl Harbor, The Island...etc, some great "wow" in those.

Saw it again this weekend. Even better the second time. Probably because I didn't have my glasses the first go around, so everything was one big craptastic, glorious blur.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
