Just got back from the gym, shoved 245 up twice, no issues, no lift.....felt good. Nice to be able to bench more than my body weight, although not much more....

Hows everyone doing in their weight journey? Whether your trying to put the weight on, take the weight off, do whatever, lets hear an update!

Weighed in at 235.0 this morning, that's quite a bit down from the 263.3 I was back in June.

Last night at the gym I benched 275, granted only once, it was still clean and right off my chest, back up and onto the bar.

Friends and family say the results are definately showing, which is more important to me than any amount of weight I could lift.

Could we have beefcake pictures when everybody's finished? I think I need to go and throw up.

O.K. I am gonna jump in on this train too.. I started eating clean again about 3 weeks ago after porking from STRESS and even though I don't weigh myself  my britches are getting pretty baggy.

I am running about 15 miles a week now (a little less than I'd like) and I do weights 2X a week. My schedule does not allow me to split the circuit and recover so I just do total body each session. Not girlie weights either but enough to keep me strong. My goal is to get back down to the size 6 I was before my life went nuts in 2004. Currently I am an 8-9.

I also want to get back up to running 6-7 miles a shot at about 7 minutes per mile. Right now I am pretty far from that but I am building back.

In high school 4 years ago, I weighed 155 and benched 245. Now I weigh...155, but my bench is probably closer to 170...lol.

Went to the gym this morning and forgot how much I loved working out. I'm going to try and shed a couple pounds of fat (dont know if I'll lose any weight overall since ill be gaining muscle mass again) and then start taking some whey. We'll just have to see how my schedule will allow all this. School or work 9-6:30 mon-sat, then in my off time I'm still working on school.

Couldn't agree more with the school thing. Takes up too much time and leaves me little time for the gym. I never played sports in high school other than freshman year and it's now 9 years later. This is my first time actually seriously lifting for a period of time(started in june) so I'm hoping if I can continue the trend it will pay off.

Oh, and no 7 minutes minute miles for me like darla! noooooo way.

    was 199, now 180, goal to 165-170.
Current weight training is aiming for hockey, soccer and rock climbing
    Current LBM 155

Did bench for the first time in a long time on monday, ran 230 up 5 times not too bad.

I have no idea what my leg max's are and I'm too chicken to find out. I just know none of the "safe" machines are even close.

6' 5" 300 ... My normal weight with active training is around 270 I have been off of work for an industrial injury for 5 months. I am in physical therapy now and once I get back into my regular training routine I will be back to 270 easily within 3 months..losing ( And adding ) comes pretty easy for me.

:) Yep... I have never lost this much weight before. 9 months out of the military has turned me into a fatty real quick. Back to running around neighborhood, 7:15 miles lugging 245 is a lot of work...

Bench, squat, and deadlift over 300. Feeling good again...

    Still hovering around 170-175.

Got measured for a suit though the other day to replace one that got torn up by moths. 30.5 inch waist 48 inch chest. Neck is 16 1/4. I dropped some weight but didn't really gain any muscle. Been real lax on it lately because I'm in the middle of a move at home and I've been having to work off-hours shifts at work.

Once I get back in to a more regular regimen, I think I'll see some gains again. I want to get an exercise cycle with variable resistance stuff so I can start working on leg strength too. I was moved down one floor at work but my lab is still upstairs and I've noticed a difference in just 2 weeks of running up and down stairs 20 times a day.

Yeah, it was a wool suit. Dunno how they got into it. It was just hangin' in my closet. Went to put it on for a wedding and looked at the sleeves and it had all the squiggling, chewed up lines and holes in it. It's a walk-in closet too so it wasn't like all stuffed up or anything.

rebump on this wonderful thread.....who gave up?

still going at it although weight loss has seriously slowed down but the strength has seriously been growing. I'm down to 228-230 depending on the day, big drop from the 263.3 in june and 270ish back at the beginning of the year.

Still at 170. Which is pretty good considering I've been sitting at home on my butt for the last 3 months.

Didn't give up, just got side tracked. Down to 163 but I think most of that weight was fat. Been alot of stress in my life lately and I got off of the workout for a while. But I'm back on it and only 10 pounds down. Probably won't see 175 again for a couple of months.

But strength is way up! I grabbed a transfer case that was fully loaded with oil, probably around 200 pounds, and picked it up like it was nothing and tossed it on a pallet. Also, I was reassembling a cylinder head on a Mack diesel. The head bolts get torqued down to 270 foot-pounds and I cranked them down like it was nothing too. It's also nice when the opposite sex takes notice that you've lost weight. I've gotten lots of compliments from women at work and friend's girlfriends and stuff. Makes ya feel good and gives further motivation to keep it up!

Ok everyone - time to update the thread.... How are you all doing?

In early December I hit an all time high of 248# (I am about 5' 10") I could not bring myself to purchase another pair of fat pants and really dreaded hitting the 250# milestone.

I started with just watching what I was eating and a couple months ago increased my exercise to about 45-60min walking on a treadmill. (3.x mph with a varying incline - about 4-5 times per week)

Now about 5 months later I am at 207#. Still not at my goal of under 200, but a hell of alot closer. I have averaged about 8# per month and am still doing well. Once I am under 200, I will start less walking (drop to about 30min per day) and start lifting. Nothing much, maybe a bowflex or weight machine (both of which I already have) - just something to increase strength.

So - How are you guys (and gal) doing?

I'm at 221 and stuck. But I've been doing way more weight training than cardio so I haven't lost anything, but clothes are fitting way better.

So far I have lost 50 pounds since last year and I'm down 6 inches in my waist. I don't want to drop below 210 and I will accept going up to 230-235 if it's from muscle mass. Right now i look like a completely different person from last summer and look foward to what this summer brings.
