Trey, I'm so proud of you. You have no idea. You have come so far, and you came up correctly - if that makes sense.
I'm envious of what you are experiencing right now. You'll understand more a few years down the road. This is a rig all other rigs to follow in the next what - 40, 50, 60 years - will be based on - in hopes to better (with some success), but one you will ALWAYS remember and reflect on.
Embrace it, and have fun!

Thanks Russ...
I owe alot to where the sys is at now due to you and the other core members thats been here since I started. Its all been in phases - thats for sure.
Thanks again for hooking me up with the X30 - its a sweet little unit.
All sounds great. Still adjusting to the bass, when I first got the SVS, I was adjusting to the accuracy, and now that I have the VMPS - I am adjusting to accuracy x1000.
Thanks Disney...
Haha, thanks for the comments guys. Its appreciated.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I love to say it....TOLD YA SO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job on the Crown for the VMPS. No plate amps for VMPS!
You might also consider another adjustment on set up. the passive on the sub is a paper cone. You might consider putting a rug under the sub. The paper cone has a little more resonance than the active subs.
I am so glad to hear the you enjoy the VMPS more that the SVS. I love mine. This is not a knock on SVS. So no snow balls please!
This is where a boy becomes a man!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

Heres a little mini review... nothing special. Just got bored.
So about eight months ago; Sean, my audio inquisitor for the past 5 years, steered me toward Tyler Acoustics for my next pair of mains. Trusting his judgment, I fired off an email to Ty Lashbrook. Ty started his company in the early 90’s and has grown tremendously since. He takes the best quality drivers he can find and designs a speaker around them, a philosophy I truly liked. Of course, buying site unseen and unheard, this would be interesting. With Ty’s 30 day in home trial period you really cannot go wrong. So my six month wait began.
In this same time period, I had come across multiple other pieces. Namely the Shanling CDT100A, Cambridge Audio Azur 540D, and a VMPS larger subwoofer; so when the Taylo 7u arrived, it was backed by a lot of fine gear, specifically powered by a supped up Odyssey Audio Khartago (A Stratos in a Khartago case), processed by a B&K PT5. The system, tied together by Audioquest, Signal Cable, Zebra, and Monster cabling, had a lot of promise.
So the day finally came, I would finally get to see what these Tylers were made of! Arranged to be off from work and school; I waited patiently home for Fed Ex’s delivery, which thankfully was early afternoon. The 7u came heavily boxed, surrounded by hard expanding foam within the box. The heavy plastic wrapping protecting the beautiful dark walnut finish, you could see the copper phase plugs glaring at you in all their beauty. It was a beautiful site to finally see these speakers in person.
After carrying them to my room with ultimate care and set in place for optimum placement based off past speakers, a quick overview was needed. The workmanship of this product was phenomenal, very tight seams and even finish. Ty’s crew did not miss a beat. I could not find one flaw in any way.
The speakers were without a doubt one of the finest speakers I have owned. This was without question, the real question was – how did they sound?
The first disc I reached for was the “Dead Can Dance” – playing “Ubiquious Mr. Love grove”. My all time favorite demo track, referencing all the way back to the JM Lab Grande Utopia. For those not familiar with the track, it’s a new age genre and the song features congas, a whip, and a male vocalist. With some slight toe in, the speakers gave off, what I would call a holy sound. The whip projected three feet in front of the left speaker and five feet past it. Absolutely amazing response, as the congas fell into place right behind the left speaker, belting with amazing authority. The vocals, extremely large and in front of the speakers; the reverb resonating around the room with a commanding force, something the Grande Utopia didn’t replicate exactly.
No reason to stop there, I pulled out my DVD demo disc “Alive”. Which features the song “The Eagles – Life in the Fast Lane”, this is a song I crank to reference level. The accuracy of the Taylos shine, as the guitars distribute equally across the stage. A part in this song I reference to is the brass, when the guitars stop and the brass kicks in three or four times. The clarity and detail the 7u pulls off is brilliant, just the right amount of ting and dynamics I have heard very few speakers do. A sound I hear throughout the day, being surrounded by instruments at work.
I could ramble on and on about the end less things these speakers do right. The amazing bass response down to forty hertz, if it weren’t for the lowest of notes needed for music you would not need a subwoofer. The bass response is extremely deep, clean, and quick, no port noise to draw away from its sound. No disruption of the midrange, just hard hitting bass response you don’t expect from speakers this size. An absolutely amazing quality that I have not heard before.
The best part of the Taylos is their ability to just play the music. You can sit down and listen to a whole disc without any fatigue or concentration on the soundstage. It lays everything out cleanly and smoothly, easily distinguishable and exact. Something I have missed with my past speakers. Something I treasure deeply as music has been a large part of my life for a long time.
I’ve heard many speakers, some costing upwards of 100,000 (Wilson Audio X1, JM Lab Grande Utopia), and some costing much less. Nothing has been able to intrigue me the way the 7u has. Its response, bass, detail, ease – is the most enjoyable sound I’ve heard. The bottom line is, for the money – you would be hard pressed to find a better built speaker that offers better sound, and backed by a man such as Ty Lashbrook.; someone who is geared towards customer service, and likes his products as much as you will. So when you are starting to wonder about upgrading and everything, check out Tyler Acoustics (www.tyleracoutics.com). Hand built in the United States, your choice of veneer, top notch crossovers and drivers, and customer service that is hard to come by.

Excellent review, Sid. I'm glad you're enjoying them so much.
I look forward to the day, maybe after I get a promotion, when I can make the jump to Tyler's. Lots of components to upgrade beforehand, but it sounds like they're worth EVERY penny. -
Thanks Dane.
They are great speakers - there are alot of speakers out there, definitely can't go wrong with the Tyler's though...
I still want to hear the Freedom line up - just for comparison sake to others in its class.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Very good review young sir. I'm still kicking myself (I've become quite good at that ) for letting my taylos monitors go. I should have my 7u's in about a week. I still can't get over the soundstage that they throw out, just simply amazing. Have fun and enjoy, you deserve it.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

Congrats Sid on finally getting the speakers. They are very sexy. I love those copper plugs. I also think it is a class act for Tylos to sign the speakers. I have one piece of fine furniture (my component cabinet) that was signed as well. I consider that one of my most cherished pieces. I know you will consider the same of your new fine speakers.
Enjoy! Keep us informed.Holydoc (Home Theatre Lover)

Hey Tony,
Thanks for the comments. The VMPS I would put on par with a SINGLE Ultra subwoofer (one VMPS, one Ultra). The VMPS is about a 8 out of 10 for music, in the speed - texture, tone, quickness. Where as I would give the Ultra a 4 out of 10 in comparison. The only reason I give the VMPS an 8 out of 10, I have heard better bass from say the Grande Utopia. And apparently there are more accurate subs out there.
But for a "$1,000" dollar sub, the VMPS Larger sub with Megawoofers is next to a steal.
TN, glad you liked my mini review. Appreciate it.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
