Ive learned some important things tonight...
Hype, blind buying is a bad thing.
This VMPS... is the best subwoofer Ive ever heard. Folks - your "new" Ultra coming out, is this VMPS larger subwoofer. There are no words to describe a low mass design such as this. At mind numbing, castrating levels - the drivers barely move. Yet its deep quick. Double bass is like skipping a few beats.
As for the Tylers... - Wow. Will comment more on that later.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Congrats Trey. They look really nice, and I bet they sound better.
As mentioned in another thread (George, you'll better look there...;)), I met Ty today, and he was very impressed with this "kid" that religiously added month after month to get these speakers.
You've worked hard and waited patienly; now ENJOY them._________________________________________________

Yep. The multi-thousand dollar name brand stuff out there often can't compete with gear made by folks like Ty (Tyler Acoustics), Klaus (Odyssey) and Brian (VMPS). The sound and build quality speaks for itself.
Don't believe the hype, boooyyyyyeee!!!!HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
"God grooves with tubes." -
Hehe... yep Im that there KID...
Ty will see ALOT more of me when I am ready to move into HT...
I definitely need a HT to run on the HT bypass so I can get the low frequency stuff away from the Tys - the mids move ALOT, but they dont bottom thankfully. Ty said they will be fine. Now I just gotta find the limits of the subwoofer. Actually the Crown gives out before the sub does.
But the VMPS and 7u are just SICK.
The amount of bass the 7u puts out is astounding, it misses just that LAST octave for music. I cross the sub over at about.... 40hz at about 25% on the Paradigm for music - the Ty's have sick bass.
thanks for all the comments!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Awesome stuff Sid. I'm sure your mom is gonna love those lows that will be most likely pumping late into the night.
Man, this and HTrookie's threads are making me want to aim for Ty instead of the LSis. Damn this forum and the constant desire for more!God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 -
Dude... Ive heard the LSi line up.
And hmmm... Im just sayin.
If the Freedom line up echos the goals of the Taylo - they would be worth investing in for the same price.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

Trey, when I last spoke to Ty,, he had some very complimentary things to say about you,be proud, your decision making and discipline is to be commended.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut) -

Congratulations Trey. Good looking stuff there.
You really should get a rug for your room, at least large enough to cover the width of the speakers, and the area between where you sit and the speakers. Just to kill the first reflection from the tweeters to your ears.
Keep us posted. When I first joined here, I did not post very much, but did a lot of reading. I was so amazed at your industriousness (is that a word?). You were always working, doing anykind of odd job you could find to earn more money to invest in new gear. Most of the old timers here picked on you alot, but I sensed that it was all in good fun (most of it anyway). I think you were 14 to 15 back then, I remember you talking about getting your learner's permit. Keep up the good work!Robert

Thanks...
I deserved alot of the beatings.. its given me some tough skin id think.
As for a rug though.... Im undecided. I like a more forward sound - as long as its not fatiguing. These Tys seem to have a nice blend of that.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
You could experiment by using a thick blanket, or quilt, etc. Just something that would be similar to a rug. Just see if it makes a difference in the imaging and soundstage. Then if you do like it better that way, you could shop for a rug of the right size. Just a thought.Robert
