    Yep.

You are more than welcome to stop by any time.

Infact, around October we may try to get Ledhed and Zero down here for a visit and Led to pick up his ol RT55.

Rig is prospected to summed up in October of this year. Infact, I don't care how much I gotta shell out. It will be finished in mid October.

    Thats the following setup...

    Mains - Taylo 7u
    Amp - Stratos Extreme
    Pre - Candela
    CDP - CDT100A
    DVDP - 540D
    Sub Amp - XTi1000 (2)
    Sub Xover - x30
    Subs - Larger (2)

The VMPS will be the last thing to arrive.

I can get Crown amps at cost. So I can get them very inexpensively.. :)
Why not buy a Crown K1 or K2 then? No fans to worry about and the best amps Crown makes (that I know of anyway).
    Sony KDL-40V2500 HDTV, Rotel RSX-1067 Receiver, Sony BDP-S550 Blu-ray, Slim Devices Squeezebox, Polk RTi6, CSi3 & R15, DIY sub with Atlas 15

I need the amps to be shallow in depth so I can stick them in my side racks...

Crown K1 is to deep by 2"

I think the XTi1000s will be fine, however in bridged mode they may be stressed a bit more.

Why not go with the XTi4000 since you can get them at factory price?

The Crown cranks out 1400 watts into 4 ohms, bridged...

    Thats at 1% distortion.

The VMPS is around 600 continuous at 4 ohms...

So the Crown can do twice what the VMPS can handle - lots of headroom.

I can get two Crown XTi1000s for the price of the XTi4000... I just like to stack amps - I dont think there would be an advantage over one or the other...

Stacking amps is good - two power supplies, better reliability, etc.

Good thing those are not Behringer amps...

Anyways, glad to hear that you are enjoying your system and still trying to upgrade it (already looking for a 2nd Crown amp and then add another sub)...awesome!

I think before the 2nd subwoofer - I may do acoustic treatments...

That would push completion all the way back to November or December, however I think it will make a huge improvement in my room... lol

Will think this through, I really want to finish up in October - may just buy a pack a month along with sending Klaus money. *Ponderment*

Acoustic treatments have a huge impact on the way any system sounds. So if you're going to do acoustic treatments, do it right.

Ahhh, worry about acoustic treatments after you get your gear. Hell, you can't get everything at once. Just focus on the basic, low cost treatments for now, such as a nice throw rug, pictures on the wall, etc. Get one of your girlfriends to help you decorate the room. That ought to be fun.

Early, you would really like the Larger sub man...

Such a beast that can be integrated so easilly into a system, and with a slight turn of the knob - has no bounds for movies.

With 1400 watts running to it, this thing virtually can not distort. I can't get it to stress and the room is falling in on some scenes.

Oh yeah. Definitely gonna get one someday. Not a priority, though. My DIY sub is killer.

You have the Ascendant driver right?

I am very surprised at how much difference there was with the Crown in stereo and then in bridged. I can't seem to find its limits now. I put in Polks demo disc, Alive - with "Robots" the lil cartoon movie where the ball is rolling on the road. The entire room shifts....

    lol....

First off, congrats on your new system. Sean's told me a lot about you and your system build... glad you got the majority of it now. ;)
    One thing I have learned...

Audio Enthusiast could own the worlds most expensive, best speaker on earth --- but that does not mean the journey is over.

I already want a pair of Strata Minis and the Super Towers by Tyler. My adventure is FAR from over! :)

I got a pair here... if I could send it your way, I would. :)
