    In more news...
I was at home for the holiday this week and I went out to the Learning Center b/c it has a heated driving range. As I was there I made my way over to the used club section and saw a Taylormade R7 Superquad. I didn't check the price but I demoed it for about 10 minutes and was hitting a nice little fade consistently.

I left without thinking anything of it and then I decided to call them back and ask how much it was. There was a big sale going on out there and the club ended up costing me $175 after tax. That is with the weight kit, wrench, and headcover. It is in great condition and I cannot wait to put a ball in play with it this spring.

Also my girlfriend's family is buying me a golf pass for the city I am living in for christmas!!!
Hopefully i drop my handicap down around 10 this upcoming season.

I bought a new Callaway X20 Sand Wedge last Saturday. I've only used it a couple of times but it's pretty sweet so far.

Bought a new (used, but new to me!) Cleveland HiBore Rescue Club -- it's a 19* 2i hybrid. I can get some mad distance with it when I connect. I was actually able to get a round in this past saturday in Chicago, when it was a brisk 37 degrees.

I just started getting into the game. The VP saids that he wanted me to learn how to play and gave me a full set of clubs. The're Ping eye2 irons and have a mixed set of drivers. I have taken 2 lessons so far and will be playing my first round on my birthday on the 26th. Should be a good time

Fireman: Golf is really a good business tool, especially if you are in any kind of sales gig. That's why I picked it up.

    For Everyone else:
As with audio, my buying eyes are bigger than my ability to use the gear I get. So, I have a bunch of clubs (and a bag) available for sale. Let me know if you are at all interested in (ALL RIGHT HANDED):

-Cleveland Hibore driver, Proforce V2 shaft, X-stiff, 9.5 deg, HC included, used for 1 season
-Cleveland 460 Titanium Driver, Stiff Aldila Green NSV-65, 8.5 deg, HC, never used still in wrapper.
-Cleveland 460 Composite, brand new Proforce V2 stiff shaft, head used 2 seasons but in good shape, brand new grip.
-CG1 chrome finish irons 3-PW, 8/10 condition, 1.5 light seasons use, moved to black pearl CG1 for looks. Stiff Dynamic Gold shafts, Cleveland Cord grips in good shape.

Bunch of random CG10 wedges (the best in golf IMO). All black pearl finish, all stiff shaft.
    - 52 in very good shape, new lamkin crossline grip
    - 54 in good shape, new Lamkin crossline grip
    - 60 in decent shape, good Lamkin chord grip

I can email pics for any/all. Just PM me.

Love golf. Shot a nice 86 from the tips at Tribute last weekend, which is really good for me. Playing Sunday afternoon and on April Fools as well. Just bought a bunch of new golf clothes so buy my clubs to even my wallet out! PGA tour superstore had a big sale.

Andy, I have become addicted to the game. I try to play every weekend but the finances do not allow that. I am hopefully playing on sunday with a co-worker and I am entered into a charity golf tourney net month. Hopefully I can break 100 by then.

Good grief! Let the guy learn the game on the equipment HE WAS GIVEN before you start trying to sell him your old stuff .

There are players out there that still swear by the Ping Eye2s and they are a very good set to learn with.

Only the first sentence was for Fireman in particular.

Until last week i was recovering from foot surgery... now i can play golf again!

is there anyone in Northern Illinois that would want to play? I've spent 4 hours the past few days working on my short game... plan to log about 3 more hours of putting and chipping tomorrow.

how is this season treating everyone thus far?

I have golfed 4 time in the last three weeks. First golf outing was a nightmare...40mph winds, golfed a 93. Second time out I shot an 88.

I did a tournament after that and played lights out. I wish it was not a scramble but I felt like I carried my 4 some for much of the round. It was fun time though, we finished with a team score of 61 and placed third.

Golfed this last week and shot an 86. So I am progressively getting better as the Arizona summer season comes into full swing. Traded in my Cleveland launchers for a new set of Nickent 3DX irons. Love them. Great weight to them, and no vibration at all with ball contact. Highly recommended.

    Hello,
I golf 3 to 4 times a week and love it. If I get into the 80's I'm happy. I currently play a set of knockoffs but have a set of Clevelands I need to get new shafts for.

I setup the golf net in the backyard and have been diligently hacking balls every day. I signed up for a few lessons with the local pro to get rid of all the bad habits I'd developed over the years. The pro is at the new TPC course in McKinney, so the practice facility is top notch. The greens here are outstanding. It's the closest I'll ever get to being a member here since it's $55K to get in the door. I picked up a used set of Miura irons. The pro said Miura are the best forged irons you can buy. All I need to do now is improve my game to match the equipment.

TPC Craig Ranch is definitely my favorite course in DFW, and I'll played a bunch of them! Great layout, perfect greens, awesome amenities. I've played there twice and greatly enjoyed both rounds. Much better than the "old" Four Seasons TPC course and even the TPC Louisana I got to play while in town on business a few months ago.

Haven't played in a couple of weeks now and am getting the itch. Might need to sneak out of work a bit early one day this week to get in a round.

I played 18 with a friend at a muni course in Chicago on Thursday. We didn't do so bad considering it's been a couple of months since my last round. My damn slice is back on my drives though. I thought I had that one under control..I actually sliced it over the trees lining the fairway, over a four lane street and off an apartment building, where it bounced back onto the course. I thought for sure I was taking a window out with that one.

    Wodom,

I had my slice back with my first round three weeks ago. I could not figure out why it returned, until it dawned on me that my grip was way to light. So when I cam around on impacting the ball the club was turning out. Once I gripped the driver tighter I was straight every time.

    Something to think about.

Well since I moved here last August I have only played River Heights here in DeKalb. Hopefully by the end of the season I play at least 15 other courses besides the two here in DeKalb. I played the Irish Course at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin too. I hope to make it back up there.

we should do a round sometime. you have a handicap?

I have many handicaps but none for golf. Depending on how often I play I can shoot anywhere from a 75 to an 85. I've only played 4 holes in the rain so far this year.:( Awesome on Kohler,I'd love to play there sometime. There's alot of good economical golf up this way.

I'm seriously pondering a set of Ping G5 irons. Any feedback from any current owners? I've also heard very good things about the new Wilsons (Di and CI 7), but the Pings sound like a can't miss set of irons...

I went out for the first time today... made a lot of mistakes and shot whopping 108!

After practicing my putting for the last 3 days I thought it would be a lot better... but I had 43 stupid puts. 22 putts on the front 9 and 21 putts on the back nine. I only had 3 one putts and one of those I was up and down for par. I had seven 2 putts, six 3 putts, one 4 putt, and one 5 putt... NOT GOOD. When I practice putting I don't seem to have any issues making 3-4 footers but when I'm keeping score I just suck.

I hit 7 fairways and had a couple really nice drives... It felt good to consistently hit my driver for once.

I only went OB one time... fortunately, but it is too bad it was on a short par 3.

My sand play was pretty good. I only went in 2 bunkers and got out of them on my first try. This is something that I am proud of as I usually rack up 3 or 4 strokes in the sand.

I only had 2 pars and 7 bogeys.

I guess overall I am okay with how I played. 108 sucks but it was my first time out after foot surgery and I walked ( don't tell my girlfriend). I'm glad it was mainly my putting that did me in though. That is something I think I can drastically improve.

The wind is like 15-25 mph gusts here though too.

just thought i would share my round with you all.
    have a great day!

Played on a short par 3, 9 hole course I belong to, last night north of Orlando. Played a scramble type thing with the owner and 3 older gents. The owner is a very good player and the older guys aren't too bad either since that's all they do. Anyway, I played fair, chipped one in for bird on the first hole. Me and two of the older guys held off the owner and his partner to end up even. It is more like a social event since they all pick at each other the whole time. Funny as hell. It's all about having fun.

Yep, the Disney courses are real nice and real expensive too. Shingle Creek is nice. There are a ton of nice courses. There is a website and magazine a friend of mine owns that might be helpful, checkout Florida Golf Central www.floridagolfcentral.com. The owners name is Terrie Purdum. Or check this site that has a long list. http://html.wftv.com/recreation/guides/golf/index.html
