This 2004 Mercedes in Chrysler clothing is still going strong, just over 100k, just had the brakes done (new rotors also) changed the plugs, oil changed. Now ready for my youngest (22) to take it over.

When I did the SRT Experience in ‘05 (I think?) the Crossfire was my overall favorite. Very well-balanced, comfortable and good-looking unit. Thanks for the reminder about those cars. Hardly ever see them anymore.

Anyone ever thought of taking one of these to an ocean beach? It is for sale on FB Marketplace for $50
I have read several stories over the past few years when people are taken out to sea on these and other floats, including in the waters of Hawaii and Alaska.
Just did a quick search and noticed there are a lot of stories even where dogs have been rescued.
People never cease to "amaze" in crazy things they do.
The group were found "floating helplessly" on two inflatable flamingos, a dinosaur and a unicorn half a kilometre (0.3 miles) from shore on Monday, in waters that reportedly, so happen to be teaming with sharks.

This is worthy of its own thread, not buried here in the Post a Picture thread!
These are lovely little things! Not something I would have bought, but basically an SLK and built by Karmann (yes, that Karmann). The SLK was lovely to drive, although too small for me to fit in comfortably (too tall). The engined will easily double or triple that mileage if properly maintained, with the correct specification oil and filters in particular.
So few of these were built (about 76,000) that their used value today has probably bottomed. There would be many enthusiasts clamoring to buy one now before prices go up.

‘Music In Time’ at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston
One of the most intriguing series in the Spoleto lineup each year is “Music In Time,” a project created, hosted and conducted by John Kennedy — the festival’s resident conductor — to focus on modern and experimental music. This year’s lineup includes two programs, the first of which was “Timekeepers.” In his introduction on opening weekend, Kennedy pointed out that the day marked György Ligeti’s 100th birthday, so it was the perfect time to present his “Poèm Symphonique,” a strikingly original composition from 1962 that features 100 mechanical metronomes.
The metronomes, arrayed on a platform, are set to different speeds and started, by technicians, at the same time. As they slowly wind down, the sound forms patterns, and as some begin to stop, it becomes possible to hear the individual instruments. As Kennedy observed, this kind of composition is about “finding new ways of listening.” Focusing on the sound textures turned out to be a rewarding experience."Sometimes you have to look to the past to understand where you are going in the future"
