I had one of those Hurst T shifters on my 68 Z/28. It broke off at the threads on my shifter when I was racing someone and flew off and just missed my rear window hitting at the top of the molding around the window.
Defective shifter I guess as I wasn't that strong, lol.

As far as I can tell, it's a 1966 Chevelle, although all examples I have seen have the white ball shift knob. -
