    ^ More details por favor...

    It's a Burr Brown PCM1792 DAC board that I got from Fongolio, who I think originally got it from Fred (FTGV); a big thanks to Fred for helping me with the big and little details of the board in all his wisdom! The board is a manufacturer evaluation model, so it has too many options and switches/jumpers that you can put in the wrong position, but I was able to dial it in by going line by line through the manual. It's a 24bit/192kHz dual differential device using some high quality parts such as ELNA Cerifine electrolytic decoupling caps and some film caps in the low pass filter section.The input receiver chip is the Crystal CS8414, and it uses socked NE5534 opamps to convert the current to voltage off the DAC chip.

    Not wanting to screw my main system up, I tested the board using a 3-way adjustable power supply (the board requires direct current of +5V, +15V, -15V), the digital output from my Squeezebox Touch, and a pair of powered PC speakers. When I first turned on the power supply, I got zero out of the board. After a few tweaks and checks, I got a very distorted signal, which resolved after a few more adjustments. I'll now be testing the board on my SRS 2s through the new Musical Fidelity A5 (once it arrives), and see how it sounds. If I like what I hear, I'll get a dedicated power supply for it and build it into a chassis.

    You DIY fellas always make me jealous. I wish I had skills (and time to learn them) to do some of the builds I see you fella's do.

    Congrats man, cute guy there. Don't worry either, tired and happy will evolve into tired and pissed off, then just plain old tired, period. Damn, I remember those days of walking around like a zombie. Sad thing is, nothings changed...I still do.

    Kids are THE most difficult and at the same time REWARDING thing you'll ever experience. I believe that you never really learn to appreciate your parents fully, until you have children of your own. Then a million lessons suddenly become crystal clear.

    Dog Fence.jpg

    L to R: Monkey, 4xoddic (aka Joe) & Punkin (John Prine's Daddy's Little Punkin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yW6lMuvDJEI ). Punk is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Monkey is 1/2 NSDTR. Until recently, neighbors thought we actually had a monkey!

    We had a new fence installed last week by none other than Kansas Fence Co. (famous for constant TV ads). Enlarged the dogs' area & replaced a 4' wooden one. Trees have already lost their leaves . . .

    Around here, there seems to be something ready in the food chain for every opportunity/eventuality. I can kill one of the lubbers and it will lay around until wind, weather and sun dismantle it. NOTHING will eat them.

    I always wondered how growing a mustache raises awareness of prostate cancer? The prostate isn't located anywhere near the upper lip. It seems to me that stopping manscaping for the month would be more appropriate since it's all located in the same general area. I'm an expert in the field of manscaping, but what most people don't know is I've dabbled in shaving a few female parts as well. I'm a "jack of all blades". See what I did there?

    Obvious question then is.....were they alive or dead when shaved ?

    It's a bad a$$ guitar, made of carbon fiber/glass. Impervious to climate conditions, water, humidity, even drunken friends mad wives and drooling dogs. And..it sounds as nice if not better than my really nice Takamine guitar. Now I can take this thing on road trips or even fly and not worry about it being banged around. I can even take it on the boat for sunset or star gazing cruises.

    I love Carbon and I'll bet the guitar sounds great but it will break;
