Since Cliff Clavin isn't here at the moment, I feel compelled to mention that the porcine glass ceiling was breached a long time ago. B) 1909.

Oh, and Cliff would also want all y'all to know that the above-mentioned Lord Brabazon, besides chauffeuring swine, was the namesake for one of the more... improbable... aircraft ever flown*.

couple of final bits of Bristol Brabazon lore from https://theavgeeks.com/2021/03/03/witness-to-history-the-first-flight-of-the-bristol-brabazon-i/

    1) The chief test pilot, Bill Pegg, was, perhaps, less than confident: "I’LL FLY THE COCKPIT AND
HOPE THE REST OF IT FOLLOWS ME" said he. He also advised the control tower as he readied for takoff
that he was going to do “a fast run – it may be a take-off; it may not.” :#
    2) the village of Charlton was razed to allow for the predicted need of a longer runway for this beast -- a need that didn't turn out to be... umm... needed. :p I can almost hear John Cleese saying: "oops. sorry, Charlton! Sorry!"

My doc has me on Lovastatin. A friend told me that means you don't have to worry about cholesterol. :D

The eggs and toast we do inside. Sometimes some thick sourdough toast. Lots of butter. Love bacon but can't stand the smell inside the house, even with an external vented range hood. I can cook two pounds of bacon outside and only come in with eight slices. >:)

That and deep fried anything, good for days of left over smell.
You haven't lived until you deep fry a nice thick Ribeye in egg wash and flour. Just melts in your mouth,
    GD is it good!

Well -- we've kind of joined the 21st Century at our house. The early 21st Centuray, at any rate.

Our son sent me home from VA last summer with a foundling Samsung flat-panel TV/monitor. Since it has HDMI video input, I did actually retire our truly ancient and somewhat monstrous ca. 1983 Toshiba 27" CRT TV (a hand-me-down from my parents, which had zillions of hours of use in their home, and has been used sporadically in ours since the early/mid 1990s) and hook it up as a "TV" at our house.

    bvlwa0oj257t.jpg
    05j5tk5qkdng.jpg

We don't watch much TV, but we did use the Samsung on Sunday to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas on Vermont PBS. I kinda cheated and streamed the video from a laptop via HDMI, while listening to the audio via the little Topping USB DAC generously karma'd by @Clipdat a while back. :)

Today, we watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas with our grandson -- via VHS videotape and the analog video inputs on the Samsung! :p Really pushin' the envelope. :)

    g0pvabck2mdl.jpg

I'm tellin' ya, that VHS HiFi Stereo (analog) audio still sounds pretty darned good! B) Recorded in FM via rotating heads, with 80-plus dB dynamic range and full 20 to 20kHz frequency response, no noise reduction needed. :)

Now back to playin' our VHS HiFi Stereo audio dubs of holiday music! So much functionality in that ol' Zenith VCR/DVD combo player! :#
