I think they hit the bottom of the proverbial barrel about 10 years ago, however they continue digging to this day..."Conservative Libertarians love the country, progressive leftists love the government." - Andrew Wilkow

Found this oriental riser while moving stuff around lately.
It fits the A.S.P. base pretty good.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

I see that little JVC receiver tryin' to blend into the background... umm... in the background.

The JVC still works like new. I LOVE it. The FM reception is 1st class.
A Tech went through it a year ago. It never did have slider static but he said he cleaned them anyway.
I turned it on last night JUST to hear it's amazing sound again. Of course the Polk Monitor 10's w/peerless adds greatly to the experience. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

Tone controls?!?
That's an SEA, ol' son.
"Sound Effect Amplifier"
That's what they called their equalizers, whether standalone or as part of an amplifier, preamp or receiver -- for many years (decades).
I like JVC stuff -- I wish I had some (I don't think I have any JVC hifi components).
They made some nice turntables.
JVC = Japan Victor Corporation (as in Victor Talking Machines, later part of RCA Victor).
JVC, also aka NiViCo (Nippon Victor Corp) and Delmonico.

It does affect the sound in a good way.

I owned a NICE JVC turntable for about a week or two. Yard/estate sale purchase. I really liked it but a guy wanted to buy a TT from me and he really liked that JVC TT too. I sold it to him with just a little profit. His car sounded like it wouldn't take him home many more times. It was knockin!
One of those sales I regret...but then the Perspex TT fell into my lap. Karma? I think so.Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

"Sound Effect Amplifier" ?
For true percolation I might suggest a "Reverb Amplifier" such as the Sansui RA500 😳
It put the "Hi" back into "HiHiFiFiDelDelItyIty".
....kinda.
Vintage equipment can be fun and sometimes actually pretty decent.

There's --- ahem --- there's one of those in the basement.
OK, it's Pioneer's version (with a less cool "graphic display"), but, still...

I had the pioneer as well....

My neighbor has a Pioneer one too.
