It won’t matter because you will be in Zihuatanejo...Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
That movie ranks #1 on the top 500 list I believe.
I have this framed poster that I'll hang up again some day.

Damn fine movie. I enjoy it every time I watch it.

I’ll never forget the first time I watched it,thinking Andy hanged himself in his cell the night he escaped - even the morning guard’s reaction, staring into the (unbeknownst to the watcher) empty cell. Man, was I ever pissed, thinking it was going to end that way!

My mother in law was going through old pictures and sent me these. 1942 on the USMC Enlistment. Now I can say I'm not the only Marine in the family. All my family was Army Air Corp and Air Force.
Can anyone ID the car? I think the pic was taken in 1955. I thought Edsel or Mercury but cant find any with the stripe ending on the front of the rear fender or the three chrome parts on the front fender. Bel-Air??

I believe it's a Buick.

I believe it's a Buick.
When I zoom in it looks like it may say "Special" on the side.
Oh, you are right. 1954 to 1955 Buick Riviera Special. Looks identical. Thanks Milito. -
CH46E those fellows in the platoon pic look like they're dressed for duty in the Pacific.

CH46E,
Really nice pictures and history of your family.
The three "ports" on the front fenders has been a Buick thing through the years."Sometimes you have to look to the past to understand where you are going in the future"

It's a 1955 Buick Special. My parents had one; a convertible. Two-toned green. Very, very cool car.

That's a car that doesn't get as much love as it deserves.

You mean Oldsmobile don't you? My Dad had a 54.

This Ford was in pristine shape.

That's bad a$$! Love it.
The blue cooler sticks out like a sore thumb though. I wonder what the top speed was...you think it would go faster than 35mph?

That looks like it might be a pre-Model T Ford(???).
I looked up the Model S, but it doesn't look quite right to me.
^^^ 1907 Model S Ford.
EDIT: Naah -- the more I think about it... probably a "T" with a custom body (not uncommon, even when new). Late model Ts (second half of the 1920s) even had four wheel brakes and could be purchased in colors besides black (actually, very early Ts could be bought in other colors, too)... but by then the parade had passed the T by.
