Were they doing a mid air refuel????
-
yup.
I always think of @George Grand (of the Jersey Grands) when I see them go over. It's usually on Thursday evenings in the early evening (near dusk) in the late spring.

I wasn't sure where to put this, it's not a picture, and it doesn't need it's own thread.

Thanks!
I've got both the 'OO (soundtrack) originals; not 100% sure I need more vinyl copies (even if they might sound better)
The RTs, though... on it like a bonnet. Those are good rekkids and I have very, very little RT on licorice pizza (or is that pizzae?). -

My son sent me this picture, after receiving the SAE amp and Pioneer receiver (as a pre) from me a few weeks ago. I sent the Pioneer CD spinner to him previously, along with a copy of the new Tool CD.
Ouch! I immediately sent a reply, reminding him that the heaviest component must be on the bottom. Better yet son, get a rack! Kids. Baby steps!
My son just sent this pic to me. Much better! I'll remind him later about the loudness button at high volumes!
He sent me a text too, I had to smile! He's on his journey!

A Pacer! An old boss had a purple one I got to drive several times. Not too bad if I recall. Lots of room. Not really a performance vehicle. Circa 1976.
-
I'll say one thing about the AMC offerings: the sheet metal on their cars was heavy duty.
Other than that.......well......☺
Sal Palooza -
Now... you've gotta admit. How cool would it be to roll into the local hip, happenin' spot in a Pacer?!

Just imagine. A turbo Pacer...
EDIT: Wait. It gets better.
We may all be on the brink of a deadly pandemic... but google "customized AMC Pacer" and just look at the wonders that are displayed in milliseconds!
To quote Paul Simon:These are the days of miracle and wonder -
Am I remembering correctly that the Pacer was about $3000 or was that the Yugo? I do remember the Yugos eventually were priced 2 for 1.Harry / Marietta GA
-
I think that was the Yugo. I remember when they first came out, I was at a dealership and they had one on the showroom floor. I sat down in the driver's seat and proceeded to close the door....when the entire door handle on the inside of the car fell right off. Quality was obviously not a concern.

A friend of mine had a Pacer with the really cool Denim interior, we nicknamed it "The Moon Buggy". The passenger door was a couple of inches wider than the driver's door, forget why that was.

The Eagles perform "Tequila Sunrise" at the Hotel California Concert on Saturday night. (My pic - audience warned about taking pics or video - some fans received the "wack a mole" treatment)
Great concert! 22 member choir; orchestra, and 5-piece horn group.
Performed 32 songs over a period of 3-1/2 hours.
Joe Walsh was the STAR of the concert; but all were great.
Vince Gill was outstanding.
Best song performance was “Witchy Woman” (my opinion).
The drums were incredible. I had never seen this song done live.
All of Hotel California album performed at beginning of concert.
The unveiling of “Hotel California” arrived with a bit of theatrical flourish. Claps of thunder, a cape-clad bellhop striding across the stage to place the vinyl on a turntable and drop the needle and, as the curtain crept upward, the indelible Don Felder-written guitar opening, played as it has been since 2001 by ace Steuart Smith. (AJC)
The orchestra and choir appeared in the in the middle of “Wasted Time,” a platform rose from behind the stage to showcase the players Henley introduced as the “Atlanta orchestra.” Those fabulous musicians would pop back throughout the concert, a lush backdrop to Gill’s flawless vocal on “Take it to the Limit” (a song so ideal for him, it could have come from Pure Prairie League) and Henley’s “Desperado” among their assignments.
Yes, nostalgia is an engine of these shows, as is some melancholia at the loss of Glenn Frey, whose smiling face was shown after his son honored his legacy with “Peaceful Easy Feeling.” (AJC)
