My father used to discharge 'em against grounded chassis. I have pretty vivid memories of that as a pretty small kid, hangin' round in his repair shop. :)

Mrs. H's father spent his career (starting with 'the phone company' in Washington state in his late teens, a long time ago) with AT&T. I suspect not coincidentally, their retirement house up here (just a mile or so from where I sit as I type this) just happened to be sited within a couple thousand yards of an AT&T microwave relay tower. The tower's still there, in fact, although not (AFAIK) used for any thing any more. A relic from a bygone era in telecommunications.

Just a couple random pics. That was Copper River Salmon fresh from the Pike Market in Seattle. Now that I live in FL I can't eat Salmon.

That B17 Bomber was the my Grandfathers aircraft in England during WWII.

I picked up some of Conner McGregor's Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey and while I did not have high expectations, it is actually pretty good!

And last but not least our late beloved Xena, a Anatolian Shepherd on our RV road trip.

    Cute, but not cogent!

Nowhere in Maynard Solomon's "Mozart: A Life," an exhaustive biography of Mozart, have I found any mention of this incident, nor have I found any reference to Mozart's having kept chickens!

Nice B17! Your grandfather has a lot to be proud of, and I'm sure you are too, of him. From the high mortality rate of the daytime precision bombing, lack of fighter escort, flak, etc. To be able to stay on target, deliver the payload, and return back to base.

Those B17's could take a beating for sure!

My sincere admiration and respect for your grandfather @CH46E !

Sadly the Judy J was salvaged for parts. I dont know if there was damage and she was not repairable. I do know she was never shot down.

    Thanks!

Am I the only one who finds it a trifle odd that the blurb for this amp reports "peak power", like a boom box?

yeah, I saw that, too -- amusing that google gives the idiomatic definition ahead of the actual one in a set of links :|

You know that my choice of vocabulary is made with great precision -- except, of course, when it isn't.

I was wondering why he didn’t post the entire ad which should have shown RMS power. Granted, peak power should be given at the end of the ad, if at all.
