Beautiful picture Joe!
Just think about this...
The RICHEST man in America at the time, built his home there.
I use to travel the South East for many years and I passed by the estate many times on highway 40 and I could look over and see it at a certain section of the highway.
But...I thought about WHY would he build that Mansion where he did?
Actually George Washington Vanderbilt was nowhere near as wealthy as his elder male siblings, Cornelius Vanderbilt II and William K Vanderbilt who inherited roughly $70M each while poor George had to make do with a legacy of "only" $5M in Vanderbilt Railroad stock and the income from a $5M trust.
Almost all his liquid assets were spent in the construction of Biltmore which was still unfinished at the time of his death.
A must-see place if ever there was one.

deronb1, this post was not aimed at you. We had a Troll join in and his/her posts are now gone. This was in no way a reflection on your post (as it currently appears now in succession).

I was wondering about that. I had to go look up MENSA to see what it was. Lol -

Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Built from 1090 to 1522... This was market day, so lots of market stalls on the square.

Chalon-sur-Saône (Chalon on the river Saône), Burgundy, France.
It’s a smallish town (45K inhabitants), not far south from Dijon, in eastern France, close enough to the Swiss border.Alea jacta est! -
Architectural curiosities abound, if you’re into that sort of thing...
