Hey, youse guyses know (or, at least, know of) Dick Burwen, right?
He was invoked at audioasylum today (https://www.audioasylum.com/forums/hug/messages/17/178121.html)

The things a person's gotta do to reproduce the full dynamics of a pair of scissors snipping a piece of paper.

Last I knew, Mr. Burwen is still active. In fact, he's on LinkedIn.

He's one of the last of the grand old men of hifi.

Fascinating. If you need something constructive to do at work today:

Sorry for the terrible pic - I'm clueless with my phone camera.

Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Steep Canyon Rangers Thursday night for a "Night You'll Forget for the Rest of Your Lives". Hilarious. And great music. About 2/3 humor and 1/3 music. This was my first time seeing SCR though they're from NC. The fiddler, Nicky Sanders, was featured in the music finale and was amazing. Wish I had seen them with Steve and Edie Brickell. Always liked her music and voice.

    Great pictures on this thread.

With the NFL Draft going on, I found where these guys worked prior to servicing turntables:

They were released after the NFC Championship Game:

our son the mathematician sent me this link to a presentation illustrating the fun of using statistics to describe sets of data. This illustrates something I tell folks all the time; always look at your data; don't just accept the word of a statistics package (or stats from Excel) :)

    https://www.autodeskresearch.com/publications/samestats

    i9q6xbdwhuz1.png

All of these datasets have the same set of summary statistics.
    Gotta love that.
