The only thing that could compete would be burnt ferro fluid.
I have had the misfortune due to a wonky volume control misbehaving during a speaker break-in period and while I was out runnng an errand. It's always a bad sign when you return to the house and find yourself wondering where awesome music you like is coming from and then come to the realization that your spare room may be on fire.
In case anyone hasn't had the experiece, I've personally found burn ferro fluid to smell fishy. Full disclosure and ownership of sheistiness, those went back to Adorama on exchange.
Side note: LSiM702s and B&K 200.2 amp hung tight, thoughtout! despite a horrible scent that perisisted in that space for 1 to 2 weeks, I suffered zero blown tweeters at absolutel max volume for an unknown period of time. That B&K amp got hot.
This is one of my @westmassguy memories... miss ya Dave, you sob quitter.
One day I do believe I will be punching you in the nuts for leaving us prematurely.I disabled signatures. -
