Caution: Forza has turned me into a virtual ricer.

I was noticing that they did a good job with the high-pitched turbo whine sound. It actually sounds real and not like the typical over-exagerrated sound.

Yeah me too. I have it on Xbox on one of those compilation video games, as well as centipede and milipede. I think one is called "Atari Anthology", and the other is "Namco Museum". I play the crap out of these games.

Yep the original C&C was the best in its genre. Many imitators would follow.

That's your opinion. Personally I didn't find Forza all that appealing and since I absolutly despise ricers and every fiber of thier being it really didn't appeal to me. Also, gameplay and the physics didn't seem to be very realistic. That's one thing that GT haters dislike the most is that the cars do not perform as well as people think they should. The dynamics of GT are really, quite close to reality it's just that there is more at stake on a road in a real car so people aren't willing to push a vehicle as hard as they would in a video game.

hear, hear... forza is a much better quick-start game, it's easy to play, but i find that GT is much more entertaining if you're into the ultra-realistic style... forza does have damage, though, which adds a new dimension...

although u may despise ricers to say that is the majority of the game is far from the truth. there are tons of domestics, a nd exotics... just having the ability to mod the body/decals (which i rarly do becasuse it is soooo time consuming) is gunious. combining midnight club with gt4, i cant think of the words to describe my emotions (maybe a tear to two say it best) and then they added damage, i think i need new underpants. gt4 is a fantastic game, dont get me wrong, i was more than addicted to gt3 and 4 is great but ive been converted to microsoft. yay bill gates (j/k), steve jobs is way cooler :)

I like Midnight Club 3 as far as racers go. I was on Need for Speed UG 2, but it became boring to me. Forza, I have never played, but GT3 and 4 I have. I didn't care for it that much, probably becuase I don't care for PS2. I am speaking from experience, mostly bad. My memory cards have lost memory after I was 85% into completing a game, controller not lasting more than a few months, and the list goes on and on. Just my 2 cents. ;)

It's not just stickers a wings that bugs me about Forza. I don't like the premis behind the game and there are parts that seem to make it look like the game supports street racing and that is something I disagree with completely. The game has a different look and feel to it and it makes it too "game-ish" for me to take it seriously as a "driving simulator" game. GT created the "driving simulator" genre and there are many imitators out there, not all have bettered the concept. Also, another peeve I have with Forza is the "attitude" behind it, for lack of a better word. I can't really explain what I mean easily. Look at GT. It's very benign in the gameplay and you are racing the clock and yourself just as much as the competition in the race. In Forza, in the limited time I had to play with it, it seemed that the emphasis was on the car more so than the river and developing the skill to win the races like in GT. Sure, you can go to a Sunday Cup in GT with an Aston Martin DB9 and stomp the competition but to with the races initially, you can't just build a fast car and go blasting around the track. You need to develop skills to get there. Forza didn't give me the feeling like I would have that kind of a challenge and as long as I could find a loophole in teh economy of the game, I'd have everything I needed to build the badest car around. As long as I could steer and keep the throttle button mashed as long as possible, I'd win. To me, that's not fun, that's a time-waster game for when you are bored and looking for something to do. Then again, that's me and what I like and Forza didn't strike me as a must have. Doesn't mean Forza is bad. It just means that in my opinion, it's not for me. I'd rather have GT and I have GT, GT2, GT3 and GT4. I've beaten them all except for 4 and I am having a blast trying to do it now!

As far as GT goes, the only drawback I can seriously fault it for is the lack of damage to the vehicles. They will run out of fuel, tires wear down and oil needs to be changed but there is no collision damage and that is a drag sometimes.

    I think im at 99.08%.

edit: ahh I forgot... still need to get gold on all the license tests.

GT2 was supposed to have a Drag Racing section that they never finished. They didn't update the game totals to not include them so you will never really reach 100% completion because of it.

if i want to play an arcade style racing game, the need for speed series fits the bill. however, for a real fix on the need to drive a car like it was a car and not a cartoon spaceship, gt and forza would be the one to do it. i also think that forza is more of a racer's game alowing damage to effect the outcome of the race were as gt is more of a driver's game focusing on the phisics of driving a real car with out the downside of wrecking it. there is a difference.

Super Mario - N64 - I can't think of anything since (or before) that I have put that many hours into. It really did get the ball rolling on the whole "3d" gaming thing.

But from the past - Astiroids, Centipide & Tempest were my favorites. I also enjoyed Q-bert, but that may be because it was the only one I really mastered (the arcade folks would get pissed I would play for over an hour and only spend a quarter).
