I think that, eventually, once I get used to where everything is now, I'll get to liking this. But for now....

As Justin said, tweaks are to come and he seems to be open to suggestions and new ideas.

That's wierd. They look exactly like they always have to me. Maybe Justin stuck me with the old ones because I insulted the new ones :D

I've put a piece of duct tape on my monitor over each margin. Works like a charm, for this forum. Any other place I go on the net, it doesn't work so well. :D:) Oh well I used to have a 15" monitor but now I have a 17", that is until I lost an inch on each side now it's back to 15". :D

I don't know about the rest of you, but the image loading function appears to be vastly improved. Most web site are revamped for a number of reason, not just appearance. The web sites become congested due to multiple developers, business growth and additional functionality. It would seem that technical "under the covers" work has has been mandated.

I just think it's funny, people posting links to other forums like, "..see, like how THIS forum looks." Don't you think I know exactly what you're talking about, I'm the freakin' webguy!? :p

Anyway, to help with everyone's poor widdle eyes from the brightness, I'm going to make another "style" for people to select whatever "width" they want so it stretches to the end of the screen -- if you give me more than a DAY to do it. Geeeez.

The new width is to accommodate the look and feel of the new website that we are currently developing / testing.

    Hey look over there!

    Justin,

Thanks for getting the forum back up so quickly. I'm sure it would have been easier on you to just take it offline for a few days while all the changes were being made.

Are the view amounts updated in real time? I'm asking because I noticed that although I look at a post, the view counter stays the same..It used to show an additional view immediately

    Just wondering

Don't know if it was mentioned yet, but I think there is a way to change the web page appearance (color, fonts, etc) in firefox. Someone had posted how in another forum but I can't find it.

I really like the new look. I do have one question though, just hope it hasn't been asked or answered already. Where is the system showcases?

System showcase is still here: http://clubpolk.polkaudio.com/showcase/index.php

But for right now, you can't edit or post a new system. I'm working on changing it so it will authenticate with the new forum so you don't have to "log in" to edit your system.

I may update it though, did you have a suggestion for improvement?

So just so everyone knows you can't use the 'f' word for **** and you can't use the 'a' word for your buttockal area.
I hope you're smart enough to know that using the term **** is in no way acceptable. Whether Justin has a problem with it or not, I do, and would much appreciate you not using that descriptor for whatever you don't like, even if it is just for smilies.....

I'm foul mouthed on this forum, no apologies, no regrets, but never used the F word as described above, period. I think Dragon just had a bad day.

Anyways, I was wondering when we would step into the future of websites. Polk Forum rocks, and Justin is our P I M P.

The older the Polkie, the more complaints. Aren't you guys hard of hearing by now, obviously the reading comprehension takes a hit as well, get lost.

P.S. I secretly love every one of you older Polkies.

just like no one in here would ever use the "N" word.. don't use the "F" word either. it's just not cool anymore.

If you use such words in your vocabulary... please refrain from using them in here. A gingerbread man can't be ****.. just like a car can not be ****. A person yes, a gingerbread man no. that's just my $3 dollar bill ;)

At the top of the page, there's a link that just says "new posts" in about the middle of that toolbar thingie.

If you want to mark everything read, it's under quick links in that same area.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

With the Firefox browser the smilies look the same as they always have. With IE they are the new ones with the 'funny', gingerbread man look (IMHO)

Images are limited to .5 MB each, which is way big enough (too big in my opinion, but didn't want to exclude those who didn't know how to resize images) for any normal picture. The thumbnails are created at the time of upload, but your picture size will remain the same.
