Black and Blue concert in Milwaukee...wanna say around 1980 maybe. Blue Oyster Cult opened and then Black Sabbath came out and played one song and a riot broke out among the fans. Ozzie refused to continue and then more rioting continued.Sabbath did not return to stage.Never knew that Sabbath and BOC fans had this rivalry/hatred. I was there to see BS.....Man was I upset!!!!!!:mad::mad:

I've been going to a ton of shows since I was a wee lad, but I think my first "concert" was either Nine Inch Nails or Depeche Mode.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

My first was in the late 60's. Mississippi River Festival with The Band (Bob Dylan showed up unannounced). Don't really remember too much of it. Wonder why?

Attended a concert in the early 70's with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Poco at a converted roller rink in KC called the Cowtown Ballroom. A real stoner-fest (a good thing). The warmup-act act was a comedian friend of the Dirt Band that told jokes / killed time while the hippies wandered in. Some guy with banjo he never played and a fake arrow through his head. Strange for a rock concert. I think his name was Martin. Wonder whatever happened to him?

Bad Company with Kansas as the opening act, around '76 I think. A couple years later I saw Ted Nugent with Cheap Trick and a little known band called AC/DC opening.

Aerosmith 1977 at the Capitol Theater in Passaic NJ. Aerosmith was warm up to Climax Blues Band and everyone was asking "who is Aerosmith?. After Aerosmith finished their set with Train Kept a-Rollin, no one wanted them to leave and started booing Climax Blues Band when they first came out.

Def Leppard- early nighties, was my first and was a huge treat for us in SA and they were part of a few classic bands to venture into unknown territory!

Bon Jovi, The Cult, U2, Depeche Mode, Lenny K all followed and since then we have had a steady flow of mediocre to decent bands coming through our way. Not to mention the King of Pop but I missed that one....

Most notable was Metallica in 06 but by then I had already seem them in the UK in 99:D

Aerosmith Permanent Vacation 1986(?) with Dokken as the opening act. Aero was returning from their hiatus, and sounded like it. Dokken was by far the better sound and that is not a complement. Even though, I do still have some Dokken cd's laying around here somewhere.
Location was at the WSU Sports Arena in Pullman. Not a concert venue at all.
I don't know if I felt so bad the next day from the copious amounts of beer I drank, (it was college) or being beat alive inside of a concrete box by spl's.
Anyways, I have never liked WSU since then. Go Vandals!!

Charley Daniels during 1978 in Huntington WV. It was over 150 miles away and my brother won a pair of tickets via a radio call in. He was too young to drive, but I could. Our parents loaned us the family car for such a specific trip. My brother and I had a great time!

We arrived home at 2:00 A.M. with Mom and Dad sitting up, awaiting for us. We did not dissappoint their trust and we regaled them concerning this specific adventure. After that trust in the loan with the family, my brother and I could, more or less, borrow the principal family car at will.... Gawd, did my brother and I abuse that trust! ... but we never wrecked the main family car either.....

Too many years ago to remember, but it was either Steppenwolf in Balt. (I do remember that they sucked !), or CS&N (fantastic !!). Not too long after those, I hitched with a couple of friends to upstate NY for a three day mud/music fest. After the first hour there, I didn't see them again until I was back in Maryland!

Black Sabbath in about '72/'73. It was scary. I didn't even like the band, but a cool friend of mine asked me to go, so I did.

Next concert was incredible, also around the same time - The Who with an unknown opening act by the name of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Incredible concert.

Nice. I can still listen to both those groups occasionally. My first was either Steppenwolf or Jefferson Airplane '68 at OKC Civic Center. Last act I caught there was Yo-Yo Ma about 5 years ago, accompanied by the local symphony.
