We used to stay for a weekend every November in a mountain cabin 3 miles as the . . . . bat flies from Bat Cave, North Carolina.

We have bat caves up 281 toward Austin. I'll see a small swarm of them flying around my street feeding on mosquitos during the evening.

    Well, that could've been worse.

They say we have been in drought conditions for the 2nd half of summer. I wanted it to end, but not exactly in this way...

This is what a bridge near me looked like in Sept 2009 when we received more than 15" of rain in a day. Notice the distance between the power lines and the water.

I prefer the first one (Jim Fox design in NC) for its uniqueness, as long as there won’t be any planning permission granted to obstruct those spectacular views.

The second (NH) is fairly standard and has some interior design elements that seem a little dated. Winter in NH won’t be the same experience either… 😬

Still pretty green from the top of the Kanc on our way back to the flatlands yesterday. The good thing is the leaf peepers aren't there in full force yet.354p3010r45h.jpg
