  • Just encountered it on my IPad.

Remember the good old days when Peanuts holiday specials used to air on broadcast TV instead of Apple TV+ and when this forum had a nice soothing dark background?

I think it is a cookie thing (???) -- we've had sort of waves of background changes through the user base before. Don't ask me when... but I probably do have screenshots someplace...

^^ Most definitely prefer the second one!!

And yes, I know who wrote the song. :p

I love 'em both -- they're very different.

I particularly like the verses that are in Stringbean's version that Manfred Mann's Earth Group left out.
Oh, some hazard from Harvard was skunked on beer playin' backyard bombardier
Yes and Scotland Yard was trying hard, they sent some dude with a calling card
He said, do what you like, but don't do it here
Well I jumped up, turned around, spit in the air, fell on the ground
Asked him which was the way back home
He said take a right at the light, keep goin' straight until night, and then boy, you're on your own
    and
And now in Zanzibar a shootin' star was ridin' in a side car hummin' a lunar tune
Yes, and the avatar said blow the bar but first remove the cookie jar we're gonna teach those boys to laugh too soon
And some kidnapped handicap was complainin' that he caught the clap from some mousetrap he bought last night
Well I unsnapped his skull cap and between his ears I saw
A gap and figured he'd be all right
I emboldened my favorite bits :)

(not sure those lyrics are 100% accurate, bu the important parts are close enough :) )

Seems to be device dependent. It’s okay on my iPad Mini, but all white on the full size iPad.

I don't know if it's been noted (I did try to search the thread, so apologies if I missed it), but all the top menu links (roughly highlighted in yellow) return a 404 error. No way to get to the potential revenue producing pages. :o

Is this the place where you take off your horn rimmed glasses, slip 'em in your pocket protector, light up a Camel and say
    Not on my watch.
