    That's a big Murphy's law incident for real! :s

Are you going to buy a couple of window A/C units?

People do that down here a lot. I see barely used window units once in a while for sale on Craig's list due to your exact predicament.

    Good luck Dave. ;)
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

No A/C? I think your union steward needs to let the mrs.know that without A/C,no work can continue.

Yeah, don't feel bad. I still have kitchen counters in my garage from 4 years ago. I hope to finally get to the kitchen by Summer's end. Right now my next project is to finish my dinning room. I painted it a few years ago two-tone in prep for a chair rail and picture frame wainscot. I got the chair rail up last year. Just last week I started the wainscot and got one square up and about five cut.
    s1c2oc8ikbfc.jpg
    64c2iielzg4u.jpg

Hopefully this weekend I will knock that project out. Then there's still..

    1) Finish stairway paint and trim
    2) Redo railing
    3) Family room paint
    4) Main bathroom paint
    5) Back yard tree prune
    6) Backyard beds need work
    7) Kitchen paint, counters, backsplash tile
    8) level walkway
    9) etc, etc, etc...it just never ends....

I must say that the fam and I knocked out the front lawn this Spring. On a whim we redid the boarders with stone rocks. That was a fun workout that we got done before it got too hot. Here's a pic before I pruned the trees:

This probably isn’t the place and/or time but…

My daily driver is a 2003 Silverado with Quadrasteer that… Steers/handles phenomenally Obviously that was a short-lived feature, sales-wise… Two years matter a fact. Apparently the masses didn’t think the $3500 feature was worth it. But it is!

According to my mechanic, GM (generous Motors) Has a major flaw with fuel lines, and brake lines and oil cooler lines rusting out to smithereens in 12 to 15 years or so
Michigan driving where SALT I’d thrown, oh so liberally in the winter 🥵

Some say I’m lucky I’ve gotten this far without a major overhaul of those hydraulic systems
Mechanic says I’m looking at 3K to replace the majority of lines… But not all of them

So what kind of pick up OR SUVs should I be looking at??

    I should probably start a new thread…

I always thought that was an ingenious idea. Cudos for GM to market that. Me being a Mopar nut was always jealous. If you love it youtube how to do it yourself. Probably only cost a few hundred in parts. I own an 05 diesel Jeep liberty (this is my second one). I spent $3k for a full mod to make it bullet proof just because they are built like a tank, fun to drive, super fast etc. but not for the faint of heart.

So here's my report card from July Shutdown. The Mrs decided to re-prioritize and make me do a partial bathroom remodel in the basement. Sink, Vanity, Toilet, paint. And some deck repair. And more landscaping. Ugh.

Worked on some garage projects too. Repaired an old vise that had a big dent in the side, causing it to be wobbly. Used MAP gas to heat up the cast iron and bend it back with a bolt and a pushblock.
