In my biz, most of you know I work in the automotive industry, traditionally the 1st two weeks of July has been called "July Shutdown".
In the past, these two weeks were needed for the assembly plants to change over to support the next model year of production.
With the exception of manufacturing, groups like engineering, design, administration, and basically everyone else would use that time to take vacations.
Today, that is no longer the case, as model launches literally happen year round. However, the tradition with a majority of the big 3 employees is that we still take our vacations. In fact, with my company, the 1st week of July is mandatory vacation, 2nd week is optional, with many of us (including me) taking both weeks off.
So beginning officially on Monday (working from home tomorrow
) the Mrs and I are off for 2 weeks! Woo Hoo!

Our campus is literally 1 square mile, and more, but next week the parking lots will be empty!
Also for me, this time is for much delayed home projects, some even not finished from last year's shutdown, and basically hanging around the house, working on stuff, sleeping in, enjoying many cigars and adult beverages during the week, and getting stuff done! And can't forget, wining and dining the Mrs!
Oh yeah, some time to get the toys out too, going to the range with buddies, and kinda new this year, working on audio projects!
My list is long, honey-do projects that is, but I hope to get a few audio projects completed!

As a maintenance worker I never understood why they used July as the retooling period. I always assumed it was their way of sticking it to us since they despise maintenance so much. So, luckily for us, they moved our two week shut down to the first two weeks of August. The only possible time where it could be hotter in a factory.

So here's my list from last year that I kept (yes I'm sick ) Got a few projects not complete, which are 1st priority this year.
This was after a major re-model of the 1st floor the previous year. I had to chuckle as I forgot that I threw in a few audio projects in there! Of course I completed those!
And I have no idea what the dimensions on the post it note were for!

A few years back we had a terrible flood in the area, many hundreds of homes flooded, the water level you see there was inside most of the buildings on campus!
For @nooshinjohn hundreds of Vettes temporarily stored on campus were totaled.
And, most of the IT systems were in the basement! Took weeks to get the place up and running again! My wife also works in a beautiful building here in Wilmington NC. I always have liked that some people get to work in modern buildings and beautiful property grounds. But her building is kind of a stress factory too. I hope your job isn't too stressful.
I never experienced the campus style job.
I liked having a dashboard as my desk and NO phone to bother me.
Enjoy the times there. It looks very modern and clean.Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
