Yeah, it looks like LeClerc is the real deal. The way he recovered to the lead after falling to 3rd at the start was impressive. Well the Merc's run off another 1/2, but I would like to take a look at the rest of the field. Outside of the top 3 teams Haas was suppose to be the best of the rest, and by their qualifying positions that should be the case. I only see an issue with the drivers, Gro should have been let go after last years efforts. Mag is starting to catch whatever is ailing Gro. The story over at Force India is what is wrong with sports at any and all levels. Ocon lost his seat over money. Stroll is showing that his daddies money can't make you competitive. He has failed to get out of Q1 in two years with two different teams, and Force India was in the hunt each race last year scoring points (top 10 finishes). Max V, the darling of the last two years under the shadow of Riccado, is glowing in the spot light and it may be to bright for him. Being the number 1 man has made him less aggressive, knowing that if he doesn't finish well the team has no teammate driver in the hunt.
My Surprise team so far is the raise of McLaren. This new guy Nord is putting the rest of the best on notice. ESPN screwed the pooch today, by not extending the qualifying time that was delayed due to an accident. I'm watching the replay and it stops at the end of Q2. SMH. No comments on the Spanish GrandPrix? another 1-2 for the Mercs, but the same thing happen when Red Bull was on that same roll for 4-5 years. I only wonder how long Haas will put up with Grosjean lack of performance. I know they are waiting on an American driver to go with this American team, but in F1 finishing points equal money for the team. Haas should be on the heels of Red Bull for constructor points, based on qualifying, but when your not getting those points for finishing in the top 10 it only hurts the team over all.

That's a tough call. He knew Hamilton was there and could have taken a tighter line to give him room.
However, it almost looks like a quick front tire twitch from Vettel while he was driving towards the wall.....so was he still clawing for traction or was that for show?
I think he could have taken a slightly tighter line and let Hamilton by.
I would like to see Hamilton win it outright regardless of the penalty. Hopefully he can do that to dismiss any victory from a penalty. -
I just think they are taking the fun out of racing. He came off of grass with tires spinning trying to keep his car in control. Not intentionally blocking Hamilton. Even if it was a block, that’s all fair in racing as long as it’s safe. Nothing he did was unsafe. Sebastian deserves this one in my book, and FIA once again has decided the end of the race on their own. Could have been an epic battle at the end for an actual win2 Channel in my home attic/bar/man cave

If there was grass on the right side of Hamilton, he would have passed him, no question. Being there was a wall, Vettel dangerously closed in on him considering his closing speed....there was nowhere for him to go and that was his position to take.
Watching it again Vettel clearly took a straight line to close that gap. -

At this rate Hamilton could have this season wrapped up by COTA. Sad, but Vette and the rest have not put up a real fight this year as expected. Bottas was the only real challenger. I'm sorry - but something is missing from F1 now (for me) it's not even a shade of the Schumacher or even Senna days - so boring comparatively
It still mops the floor with most any other racing out there save Le Mans, but still - such a waste -
Well another 1,2 start for the Mercs, but mounting tension in the Ferrari camp could lead to Vette's departure. Last year they said goodby to the team principal and things are getter worse. So is Vette the poison pill? McClaren has proving its on the road of recovery, while Haas needs to kick Gosjean to the curb, he is F1 version of "Sleprock" (bad luck guy from the Flintstones). I won't even say much else about Stroll, the proof is in the pudding. I think the new rules on the spending cap will make F1 the race to watch in the future as it will make the playing more level for all teams. I'm sure Willaims is having dreams of delight just thinking they can possible make it to Q2 and 3.
