    Aren’t slicks now banned? I seem to remember that the cars were too fast with slicks. However, I’m not betting any money on my memory. :)

    Never mind. Google knows everything. Apparently they were banned from 1998 to 2008, and were then re-allowed. Shows how much I keep up on sports. :)

    I guess the universe is back in alinement...Hamilton back up front and Max's Tires just didn't have enough left to fight off Bottas. Once again Lando proving he will be the man next year at Mclaren. Danny Ric looked like he got his lunch money stolen from him in those last laps and Daddy Stroll must have put boot in Jr's butt as he is racing for his life all of a sudden.

    They pitted Max so he could get the point for fast lap as there was no guarantee Lewis would blow a tire, which he did, but after Max pitted.

    Thanks. It was hard to tell from the TV feed/angles if there would have been any way for the Red Bull team to know that Lewis' tire was about to fail.

    It's possible it was deforming but not yet visibly shredding when they decided to have Max do a pit stop.

    Either way that was a pretty entertaining finish, even though I'm not a huge fan of that track in general. Although I realize it has quite the following.

    Hmmmm.....now Red Bull is saying they weren't sure Max would make it to the end without blowing a tire, so that's why they pitted him. I think they are trying to lessen the egg on their face. Still 2nd isn't a bad day at the track.

    That was one of the most entertaining F1 races I have watched in a long time. I was pulling for Sainz to catch Gasly but either way was a riveting watch

    I think Perez will find a ride, but it is sad that all the time he put in at Force India/Racing Point will only benefit Vettle. Reno would be a good fit for him as they also are on the improving side of things. Having to go to Haas or Williams would just kill his career.

    Has anyone else been watching the F1 series on Netflix - "Drive to Survive"?

    I'm several episodes into season one. Great production value and sound quality. There's a ton of great angles and shots from previous races that you don't get to see via the regular TV broadcast. Highly recommend checking it out if you're even remotely interested in F1 racing.
