I had the RB1590s predecessor - the RB1090, and is was a great amp. I am sure the 1590 is great too, but at $4000, may be a stretch. I had the RC1590 long enough to bring the box home and wife asked where's the McIntosh. I called my dealer and said I was returning the pre and wanted the MAC6700 (this would be my wife's stereo). I also traded my Rotel RM1582 towards the McIntosh. The early reviews for the Rotel 1590 set is very good. Rotel is great bang for the buck.
1590 is 2999$.
I also had the rb1090 before.
Good stuff.

Does this mean you now need to go get all the gear back that you got rid of and try it all again?
Thought about it then knocked my head against the wall. No way that is happening. I had a pretty good idea about all the gear that has since gone through, I'm happy with what I've done.

Can you add some details of your impressions? I've never seen any discussion of these higher priced AQ's.
YOu know what I would really like to do is demo a pair of the Rocket 88 and then the Oaks and then the Redwood.
That would really get me a good idea of how the cables scale relative to one another.
I will get my dealer to get that going for me, I think I will start with a demo at the dealer and then take it home with me.
I told him under NO circumstances am I allowed to demo the WEL.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES.
But... against the zip cord, the sound was more real, more palpable, better focus and imaging, warmer as well. It was interesting to hear, I could tell from the first few seconds and I went back and forth a few times, and I said...

Thanks, Joey. Turn that frown upside down. It's a good thing to get better sound.
You might again be surprised if you were to try @WagnerRC's Acoustic Zen's or Skip's WW's. But IMO, you could save yourself a lot of time and aggravation by going as high on this MIT list as you comfortably can. Then work on power if you haven't already.

joey, at this point i would not go through a dealer as they tend to direct you towards what they sell.
i highly suggest you take advantage of https://www.thecableco.com/ . you can ask what others with your equipment are using and get several cables at a time from them to demo. reach out to friends to bring over some cables.....hint, hint.

Branch out beyond audio quest. I don't have any big dollar wireworld in stock but I can bring some out for you to try. Not telling you to buy, but it could give you a comparison to work with.
+1, every cable is different and has different strenths and weaknesses. Some uniquely match with your system, others not. Almost all sound better than zip cord so thats really no comparison.Vinyl, the final frontier...

I guess that it is something that is noticeable at your level of gear more so than someone using them with an AVR but I wonder why that is. I mean, if they make a difference, then they should make a difference. I can't afford the high dollar cables so I will admire from afar until I can afford to try some out in my set up.
Given the loyal following on this forum behind MIT, those would be tops on my list of what to try. I am intrigued by WW cables as well. But, at this point, it's something for down the road / with which I look forward to experimenting.
Enjoy the journey Joey!

With the prices being up to 75% off at MIT clearance, it would be a no brainer to step into at least some magnums for not a lot of cash. And they sound verrrry good, and if you didn't like them you could easily get your money back on them. Mine required a super lengthy break in though.2 channel:

So far I finally unplugged my cheapos and plugged in the OAKs for a listening session.
To be sure it wasn't placebo, I switched between my wire and the OAKs a few times to make sure I was hearing what I thought I was hearing, kept it volume matched, and ran through familiar material.
Uh yeah. Very impressive.
And I'm only on Classe. Haven't moved to Boulder.
The thing I noticed first was lack of fuzz around voices. Better palpability and more projectile energy... These new speakers are very sensitive apparently... Yes. Check out The Cable Company's lending program. There are lots of cables out there. Some are based on bling appeal. Others on science and engineering. I prefer Shunyata since their technology, engineering, and patents are explained on their web-site, versus marketing hoo-haa from other vendors. Why are you stopping after 1 brand? I have nothing against AQ, but you really owe it to yourself to try some equivalent MIT's and a few other brands.
It's like driving a Hyundai for years and then taking a test drive in a Mercedes and proclaiming "this is it" where do I sign. You should try BMW, Jaguar, Tesla, Porsche, etc to be sure you are making the "right" choice.

Not sure if I will stop here. I guess I've been such an anti cable for so long, I was hoping I was right.
I like the AQ sound... Atleast with these speakers. It moves towards the direction I like. I was working on repositioning them because I wasn't getting the focus I wanted but just putting in these cables and I was in business.

1. Straight switch and repeating the song.
2. Volume matching so as to not fall for the trap that louder is better.
3. 3. Playing with volume to see how the system scaled as it went up in loudness.

Or it could be, it simply sounded better to him, it is his money to do with however he pleased and that maybe, just MAYBE, he listens to music because he enjoys it, not because he wants to analyze it to the point of idiocy.
