If your young stay that way and don't do anything stupid that's going to come back to bite you in 20-30 years. Consequences sucks.

Some of you may have noticed I haven't been very active for the past couple mounts, Reason my piss poor health I've only been able to post on those that I've been able to get out of bed. The latest thing started a couple weeks after I sent a batch of boards to @VR3 (Trey) and @westmassguy (David) to have on hand to sell if needed.

I woke up with a toe hurting for what seemed no reason (the one next to the big toe on the right foot) at my age and condition waking up with something hurting is not unusual but this would not go away as a matter of fact it started to get a red spot just above the first knuckle (not good, one of the first signs of a pressure sore). So off to to the VA I go and they tell me to put this fiberglass looking like stuff and wrap it with this stuff called Restore. To make a long story short in 2 weeks I went with a toe that had a red spot to one with a really nasty hole the width of my toe and down to the bone that won't heal and to make things even better the bone is now infected. It turned out to be what's called an "Arterial Ulcer", these start from the inside and work there way out.

So I'm going into the V.A. for an undetermined stay to have the toe amputated now what really sucks is I don't have a choice once the bone gets infected it's got to go and because of my poor circulation (30+ years smoking & having a spinal cord injury didn't help) there telling me there's a 50% chance of the amputation healing, If it doesn't heal there going to have to take the leg just above the knee cap.

So it's going to be at least a couple months before I can start the process of getting up in the chair everyday again. If all go's well.

Also I'd like to give a BIG thanks to @VR3 (Trey) & @westmassguy (David) for handling the board sales. Speaking of which boards sales are really slow to nonexistent (Not blaming anyone can only sell to those interested) I'm beginning to have a bad feeling that I'm going to end up out a bunch of money and having a bunch of boards I have no use for. Just had a thought maybe I'll just pull all the board sales and wait a couple years and then bring them back at twice the price. Doesn't really mater as these are the last ones I'm going to have made as right now I really can't afford to have this money tied up this long.

So long for now, hope it won't be that long before I'm back for the most part I've had a good time here.

A few parting thoughts:
1. Wire doesn't mater after all wire is just wire they all sound the same. :naughty:
2. Apple and Sony still suck (Apple's just for @AsSiMiLaTeD >:) ) I could go on for pages why I don't like them it's mainly the company's not the hardware.
3. All SDA's shoulld be used for firewood, except mine of course.
4. All tube gear are noting but inefficient and expensive room heaters. :innocent:

BTW: If you want a set of boards @VR3 (Trey) & @westmassguy (David) should be able to help you out, If you need help check out my web site (see sig) if that doesn't help try asking here or getting hold of @VR3 (Trey) & @westmassguy (David).

Thank guys, I don't really care about the toe I probably won't even miss it after awhile other than one less toe nail to clip. I'm really hoping it stops at the toe `cause if I lose the leg I'm going to have to learn how to do a whole bunch stuff differently. It's really hard for old dogs to learn new tricks.

Once again thanks for the support guys it helps and it will be what it's going to be, I'll get through it

See ya all on the other side.

    Wishing you well, Tony.

If the VA has you on just oral antibiotics, it's time to switch to a PICC line and some industrial grade antibiotics.
Combo of vancomycin and cefepime via a PICC line does wonders for some very, very nasty foot infections. Did I mention VERY, VERY nasty foot infections ?
Haven't had any experience with RESTORE, but the medical product Regranex is extremely effective. And extremely expensive, probably because it's made out of baby foreskins. The VA may not offer that.
Once a wound starts to heal up, the wound dressing Promogran is very effective, and can be bought off of Amazon or Ebay. Insurance pays a lot for Promogran, but the Amazon/Ebay offerings come from Canada so it is inexpensive; $7.00 per dressing.

In any event, I wish you well. Plug & chug, and question everything your doctors tell you.

^^^this. The VA would amputate a paper cut just sit save a buck rather than do any real medical treatment. Experienced that first hand back in the day when four of my fingers got bit by an F/A-18. They wanted to take all of them but my thumb down to the first joints and never did set the fracture in the palm of my hand. I refused to let them do it and all my fingers work like they should.

If you can, seek another opinion, and God bless you and your family.
