  • I've been slagged for expressing my interest in buying on this forum in the past, but as I read the rules, there is no proscription against buyers having fewer than 100 posts. That limitation exists for the seller.

    I quote:
Being able to offer items for sale or trade is considered, by its membership, to be an earned privilege. To earn this privilege a member must accumulate at least 100 meaningful posts before he is permitted to offer anything for sale or for trade. What qualifies as "meaningful" is determined by the moderators and "for sale/trade" posts will be deleted if they are in violation of the rules.

Sellers are not restricted as to the number of posts a potential buyer has, they are encouraged to use common sense in all transactions and agree that responsibility for all aspects of the transaction handling are theirs and the buyers. If a seller wishes to limit the acceptability of potential buyers he must include this as part of the item's description.

Given that, I've expressed my interest in this item to the seller.

No sure when you were "slagged" but the rules were fairly recently changed. There is no longer a post requirement to buy. Up to the seller. Good luck.

Well Ken, you were the chief "Slagger", but thank you for your well wishes.

With that said, I'm happy to see the rule changed and agree with the revision. I understand the intent (although I'm not certain that people who are especially talkative and quickly achieve a 100 post threshold are necessarily more trustworthy than others.) With this rule, the onus is particularly on the seller since he receives payment prior to shipment.

I've had a few questions that are answered in my first post, since we're going on 5 pages now, here's a reminder, remember, current price is $1000 plus shipping and paypal, after tonight (when I can no longer buy that bike I want) price goes back to $1250 plus/plus.

I've loved this amp, I've loved everything it has done for my A9's and my music and movie listening life as a whole but on to bigger and better things!

    350wpc 8ohm
    500wpc 4ohm
    120a peak per channel
    http://www.parasound.com/vintage/hca3500.php

I purchased this from a high end audio store that was upgrading, it has spent 18mo with me in one location powering A9's. Amp is in nearly flawless condition. Includes both factory power cords. It has only the most minor of scuffs on the handles, no major dents or dings. The ONLY flaw is the power indicator for the left channel is sluggish to switch from green to red when you power it on which has no bearing on the function of the amp.

You will receive the amp in a heavy duty cardboard box as pictured, wrapped in plastic and surrounded by enough foam to survive any shipping. Though I use UPS which I've had very good luck with sending heavy, large audio gear. (never FedEx) Shipping will be around $100 to the west coast and up to $175 for the east coast. Please use UPS to estimate shipping from 84103, box size 23" × 28" × 15" 110lbs. I will get you exact shipping for purchase.

Asking $1400 plus actual shipping and I will split the PayPal fees.

Price back to $1250 plus shipping and PayPal.

If you were hoping to get it for cheaper I guess you'll have to wait until I find something else I want to buy. :p

Great amp at a solid price. Im down to bookies myself, so no real need for it. If i were to start building a 2ch system again, this would be the centerpiece.

Last Chance to get this in time for the Holidays!!

So, special Polkie Christmas price, $1200 plus Paypal/Ship.

If it doesn't sell by then I'll take it off the market and use the Christmas break as a perfect opportunity to properly quad amp the A9's and see how they do with 700watts of Parasound power. :D

This deserves a little bump. :)
  • Thanks!

With the recent threads about bigger amps and powering A9's I figured there would be more interest. But alas, old multi page sale threads get ignored. Especially when I can't change the title and first post to reflect current asking price of $1250.

At any rate it won't be for sale much longer, as soon as I get a chance to re-integrate it with the system it will stay there for a bit.

Well all temptation can now be replaced by regret of anyone who didn't jump on it, sold for $1300 shipped.

Thanks everybody for all the thread bumps along the way!
