They have a chance to make things right against Belgium or go home!
I still put my money on Argentina to tame the Belgians who have an outside chance to cause an upset.

With the Neymar appearing to be out of the WC due to injury, the Germans' chances are looking very good.

Yes, unfortunately for Brazil Neymar is out for a few weeks with a fractured vertebra in his back from what looked like a deliberate knee to his kidneys. Also their team captain is out of the Germany game through suspension for getting a yellow card for doing something annoying rather than dangerous.

Hard to tell if stricter refereeing early on in the Brazil v Colombia match would have prevented Brazil losing two of their key players for the match against Germany. It was a wild match and the referee wasn't in control of it.

    I wouldn't be surprised if it's a Germany v Belgium final.

This Brazilian side looks like your typical talented over hyped prize fighter with a GLASS chin.
Going up against the Germans they better keep their guard up for the full 12 rounds.

Watching their game against Colombia i thought they played with a lot of intensity and emotion in the first half
    It was pulsating stuff.

Then came the second half and they looked like a totally different team. They looked like a a fighter with a slender lead holding for deal life until the final bell as the opponent kept pounding.

If they cannot keep the same intensity in both halves against the Germans they are doomed.
Hopefully the ref, whoever he is going to be, is not swayed by the home crowd and makes controversial calls in Brazil's favor.

I just want the best team to win.

So far the Netherlands and the Germans have been the most convincing to me.
Also any team that has MESSI has a shot, so I am not ready to count Argentina out. They have depth. They just have to start clicking. Time is running out!

Brazil....just not good enough this time around. I'm looking for Argentina to upset...their my underdogs. Messi is arguably the best player in the world right now, but we all know one person does not a team make. Belgium looked like super stars playing our team, but then most would. Still in the end they almost gave up the tie goal. I'm not so sure about that team hitting the final round.

I'm sticking with the Germans or Argentina. The way things are in that country today, the Argentinians could use a good boost.

Not so fast there... Schneider & Robben might be too much for the Argentine defense.

At this point all I am concerned about is "may the best man win".

So what are the possibilities here?

    1. An all South American Final
    2. An all Euro Final
    3. A Euro v South American final!!

I am not even going to try to hazard a guess.
Any one of them is good enough to walk away with the CUP!

The X factor is going to be the ref and home field advantage ( for the south americans).

What ever the outcome we are in for some drama!

Ha....the world cup is all about drama. From the refs, to the players biting people, kneeing in the back, and taking academy awards for best fake falls on the field.

Germany wins it all, barring some sort of card/injury catastrophe. I was going to give Brazil more credit until Neymar went down. Ze Germanz are just too tough to beat this go round in my book.

After half an hour into the semi final, this is embarassing. Almost like half of one of the teams didn't show up to play.

After seeing Germany play their first game, I told my friends that I thought Germany would win it all. They just looked so much better than the other teams at the time (and they are only getting better) - just more organized and precise and efficient than the other teams.

I didn't get a chance to see the Germany-Brazil game today due to having to work. I thought Germany would beat Brazil but I never would have guessed it would be be a 7-1 blowout.

7 goals in soccer? How often does that happen? Is that near a record for most goals scored in a World Cup match?

I think Argentina will win tomorrow and then Germany will beat Argentina in the finals.

This sure has been one exciting World Cup. I am just sorry it will be ending soon.

10-1 in 1982 was the largest margin I believe.

Argentina better take notice of what happened today. After the Netherlands scored 5 on Spain...

The Germans finally cracked that CHIN that had looked suspect all tournament long!
Once again had this been a prize fight, the ref would have stopped it to save the bloodied and bleeding Brazil from further punishment!

Are we in for another AWE and SHOCK tomorrow!

What a thrashing....embarrassing too for the host country. I knew Brazil didn't have the tools to advance, but man....they had no defense, none. The Germans looked like a well oiled machine and either winner of todays game is going to have to put up a lot of effort to stay in the final with them.

Well, those are the same 24 years I've been waiting for a chance at the finals  and against Germany of all teams like 24 and 28 years ago.

There has been a lot of disappointment in quarter finals, twice against Germany once against the Netherlands. Also getting to 2002 as favorites and not making it past the group stage.

Some trivia, every time Argentina had a chance to play the finals it did. Fifth final appearance, 50% success. Not the best, but better than many

Difficult task at hand but not impossible! I will be watching...

    Called that one.

Have to say though, after watching the game....the other team had a better style more appropriate to take on Germany. Even though I give Germany the winner in the end, not so sure Argentina can pull it off. I like a good under dog story though and like I said, that country could use a boost about now. This will be classic European style against South American style. I'll be rooting for Argentina.....
