    Nanci Griffith - Ruby's Torch

    414tzv2k0lL._SL500_AA240_.jpg

A departure from her typical Tex-Folkabilly genre. In additon to a singer, she is well known as a Texas folk songwriter...but these are all ballads with most of them being covers. Her unique voice is the star here. This is very well recorded (as most of her albums are) and absolutely great album IMO. If you like Nanci, you will definitely like this one. If you've never heard her...and are looking for something a little different, look it up on Amazon or Allmusic.com and consider giving it a listen.

Alison Krauss - A Hundred Miles or More - A Collection

    410oqj5K5-L._SL500_AA240_.jpg

This is a collection of Alison Krauss performances/recordings that have never appeared on an Alison Krauss album. Some pretty good stuff. Of course all of you AK fans NEED this album (and you know who you are)...of course most of you who would want it...already have it. Well recorded. There are several genres, not just Bluegrass...some Celtic, Folk, Country and Rock. Duets with Brad Paisley, James Taylor and John Waite (The Babys). I really like Alison...and this one suprised me, because it is better than I anticipated.

    From Alison Krauss to...

    Black Uhuru - Ulitimate Collection

    41NBQA3EG0L._SL500_AA240_.jpg

Very fine Roots/Dub Reggae. Only a notch or two below Bob Marley or Jimmy Cliff IMO. This is a nice collection of reggae if you want to get your feet wet in the genre (in addition to the MUST HAVE "Bob Marley - Legend"). Lots of Robbie Shakespear excellent bass tracks. If you cant groove to this music, you have no soul.

Elvin Bishop - The Best of Elvin Bishop - Sure Feels Good

    5494024128a0b11c5591d010.L.jpg

What a fun album. I've always liked Elvin's music but I've never had many of his albums. This was a 92¢ bargain bin find. It includes the hit "Fooled Around and Fell in Love," with Mickey Thomas (Starship). Sometimes you just luck into some good music when digging throught the LP stacks at the Salvation Army or yard sales or in the bins at the used CD stores. This is one of those nice finds!

Margaritaville Cafe - Late Night Menu

    31YFV5ibFSL._SL500_AA160_.jpg

Contains studio recordings of performers who play at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Cafe in Key West, Florida. Nice CD of music one might not normally hear. Jimmy Buffet has a couple of tracks that aren't on any other albums.
