If UPS shows the package as delivered then would insurance still be valid? I would think the insurance would cover their damaging or losing the package in transit. Once delivered, I would expect them to say they did their job, and anything else is the problem of the recipient.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

Ok now here is the latest update guys your gona just love this, I called him 4 times today but after GWH's post I decided to leave a message. I said I was calling to ask for an update and if any of his neighbors might have got it. I said I will be contacting his local police department to launch an investigation into the missing package and it where abouts as a neighbor may have saw some one picking the package up. I asked if he had home owners insurance because I would be out 4k for the dac and the money I paid for it and its a crime nearing $10000.
Well his nephew just mysteriously picked it up and has been driving around with it in his car the past couple of days but .... he's not the brightest kid in the world he said. He also said that he knew he had it yesterday but he just wanted to torture me for calling him a liar.
What a relief you guys!!!! mannnnnnnnnnnnn I am like sooooooo happy you cannot believe how relieved I feel right now. End of the story, I have my money and got a great deal on cheaply insuring the package so I saved a few bucks you guys and yes it was worth it lol

Exactly, I stated that any credible forum members can have access to any proof they desire. I would even trust F1 with the password to log into my ebay account and read the messages about the whole haggling from the start of the deal to him requesting ups etc. Nothing to hide from me and I am 100% truthful. I would never take advantage of people just to get attention that comes in the form of ridicule.
The great thing about this that I reached out for help and got it as the whole inform the buyer that you will be contacting the police and the package mysteriously showing up done the trick nicely. -
Because he always seems to have an out. It's like he sets up these situations specifically for someone to bite.
I dont get what you mean? -

PFB......please refer to post #97. -
Why? When I said that I got my packages cheaply insured and it was worth it I hope everyone knows I was being sarcastic. This drama has caused not only me but my lil wifey to go through it all with me.
Being serious here, this was not worth it and was the worst few days I ever experienced. The guys tone of voice on the phone was just soo smug and belittling, I wanted to quit my joband drive the to kick his **** but I always had to think "what if the package really did get stolen" and keep it rational -

Its all good now though and I can enjoy my goodies I bought with his money. I think dumbest thing I did though was spend the guys money before the package even got there. I did make it clear that I wanted signature confirmation and started an online aplication for small claims court as you can do it if the claims under $7500 here. I also need to contact ups and tell them to stop the investigation.
Now here's the thing, could I claim my money back on the shipping because they threw it on the doorstep? -

Once upon a time there was a Farm boy, except that he "wasn't really a farm boy" but a gopher for Quentin Tarantino who paid him twice minimum wage and spent most of his time trying to shut him up because he was always trying to suggest screenplay ideas to him.
One day while Quentin was hiding, working on a new idea, the Farm boy "discovered" Club Polk and now had the "audience that Quentin NEVER gave him, so he did his best to fashion stories in a NEW tradition called EBAY Realism in which he always played the plaintiff and constantly failed at the simplest and most obvious transactions. He posted his FIRST DRAFTS on CP with a glee in his eye hoping to garner the GREATEST amount of attention (secretly he kept all his threads, posts and responses in a binder that he would eventually try to sell as a screenplay in L.A. in order to teach Quentin to "ignore" "him"!). BeWARE the wrath of HE who does NOT read and partake of the PFBE[bay] Investigations! Coming to "cable" soon!
He delighted his following with a kind of slapstick reminiscent of the "stooge" (the three stooges in fact--his comedy was based on the lovable stupidity of Larry, Moe and Curly--three guys who could NEVER GET IT RIGHT?).
And the CP boys loved a good "stooge"!
In the meantime, PFB (the PERFECTLY FANTASTIC BOY) began to take PICS of gear that he hocked on credit from one day to the next. Giant Plasmas, High end sports cars, wondrous amps with "lights" that glowed in the dark and hypnotized him, etc. Like a Bernie Madoff, his "boyness" could not actually afford these things on his "meager" income but devised a ponzi scheme where he was always on the verge of returning equipment he'd "bought" in order to bring NEW pieces in, but in point of fact, none of these things were "ever" really his. They served to build his "audio cred" and give him some amusement in those moments when he was circling the L.A. freeway looking for some refreshments for his boss, Quentin.
But one day, I believe it was a Saturday morning, it all came to an END! A loud flurry of fists pounded his door, and pounded and pounded, threatening to bring it down. "THIS is LAPD!" OPEN the DOOR! NOW!" Several brawny policemen burst in, read him his rights and cuffed him for defrauding quite a large number of people on Ebay.
Club Polk fell silent. The zany threads disappeared, the crazy posts were gone. Time passed and everything returned to normal. But, occasionally one of the older members would wonder aloud, "whatever happened to the "farm boy fellow", no one knew. PFB served his time silently, part of his sentence was that he was to HAVE NO ACCESS TO EBAY, the INTERNET or CP. He was heartbroken!

I agree on filing a police report and notify buyer you are doing so. Also find out what the dollar amount is for a class 4 felony, generally it's $500 but varies, include that in your message to the buyer.
Here's the deal, it's not UPS' fault (as of yet) if they delivered it to the correct address. Could be the seller has it and is trying to also get the money back, could have been stolen, who knows.
Anytime you ship expensive merchandise with UPS, request the "Adult Signature Required" not "Signature Required". Difference is with the "Adult" is the package cannot be delivered anywhere but the address on the box, also cannot be left at the neighbor.
When you insure for $1000 or more, it's considered a "High Value" and is handled differently.
Always insure for the replacement value, otherwise you roll the dice. -

You know "I" love a "good" story. So I suppose I'm being selfish by trying to provide a "model" for PFB to consider. He needs more spit and polish, you see!

That sounds like something a girl would say. I still would like an explanation as you posted it. How many times have you called me a liar and just been flat out wrong and never apologized ? I dont ever say anything to you because I really dont care for the type of mean bitter attitude you have. -

I'm calling you an idiot, not a liar. There's quite the difference. You should reference the dictionary to see the difference between the two. It's amazing you've made it this far in life with such a disregard for common sense.
And how can you generalize my last post to a gender? That makes no sense at all. I guess I can't really expect a higher level of thinking from you, but then again we've all come to accept that. As for an explanation? Look in the mirror.Main Surround -

I couldn't read all the replies ,but in this day and age isn't UPS and Fex and just about any delivery company have a GPS based system? They can pin point the guy's/gals truck to I think within a mile and if he signs off at the time said and it checkes w/ that neighborhood PFB that would be considered a delivery in any court and I think you just did not got that little signing off on delivery and it was more than likely stolen or a really dishonest comsumer.I'm not going to pile on but now deal w/ Fed Ex,get the proper insurance, and most important get sign off approval on arrival.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

She kept raising her voice really loud as as if she was pretending to be dealing with a super difficult customer.

I agree, when he called me back after all the phone calls he was just being a D**k to me but my wife warned me not to loose it like the first time. It was because I mentioned the cops but not like in a threatening way, I mentioned it in the sense that they would help. GWH was spot on with the package maybe mysteriously turning up. And I think without this thread and help from my polk brothers I might have lost on this one.
