Lmao!! I really don't know if there is any come back from that, I mean how can you post again after that

You keep finding a way...:biggrin: Lol... J/K there PFB.

I really wanted to give this the benefit of the doubt, as eveidenced by my very first post in this debacle of a thread. It was when he began his offensive on a few members here and the forum itself as a group that I was done.
Hello all! I wanted to give a quick introduction for myself, and this sub-forum is the perfect place to do that.

    My name is Mark and I'm 26 years old, born and raised in Iowa and now currently live in Anchorage, Alaska. Up until this point in my life I've been happy with the junk of todays electronics and MP3's, but have been shown the light by a co-worker that has nothing better to do than harrass me about audio gear for 12 hours a day. I've been on the hunt for some vintage audio gear around Anchorage, and think I have a decent start. What I've ended up with is;

Well, it's nice to know there's at least one Prez that knows up from down. A lot more, to be sure, but I'm willing to settle just for that about now.

Well, that AK post is a little over a year old, so maybe he did own some expensive Levinson, Krell, or McIntosh gear between then and now. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt.

Does that happen a lot? I mean, going from the likes of Levinson, Krell and McIntosh to Emotiva?

    Yeah, he's a real champ.

The post is accurate, up until that day I had regressed to junk electronics and MP3's. Coworker brought in a Colorfly C4 and some Ultrasone Pro 900's and reintroduced me to hifi. I then started working on my meager collection of vintage, and new hifi gear again.

I'm not concerned if you guys believe me or not, I've got no reason to impress any of you at all. Go ahead, sleuth out the internet...you must be really impressed with me if you have all this time to devote to piecing information together about me. I'm kind of flattered.

So you actually did go from Levinson, Krell, and McIntosh to Emotiva?

SHOKDU....When you said you were not returning to this thread. You should have done just that. You must realize by now that BS is not gonna fly here. You should also realize when you are around an audience that knows more than you think you do. Not saying that I fit in this category by any means...but you are around dudes that eat and sleep audio and have been around the block many many times with very high end gear.

When you come to a forum touting Emo as the end all gear, insult members that collect/love Polk Audio speakers etc. Then get all butt-hurt and play the victim you must accept and expect black lash. Why the hell are you here? You should turn down the volume knob and listen more.

But to go from mp3 and "junk" electronics to Krell and Levinson and then "upward" to Emotiva in 1 short year is kind of ..... unusual ? Unique ?

    Impossible ?

And to top it off, your hearing gets "progressively" worse as you "age". So that some of us just can't hear what a 20 something can and yet we persist? So how is this for a "paradox": by the time you realize everything you should be "hearing" you no can no longer hear it? We're engaged in a musical version of Sisyphus, I'm afraid.

Fortunately, it is mostly high frequency hearing that is affected with age, whereas most music and vocals are in the midrange.

Now that I'm approaching "old geezer" stature, I've adopted my late father's approach: As we get older we get to have "convenient" hearing, which simply means we have discretion about what we chose to hear.

It's easy these days not to want to hear so much of the pure noise that surrounds us. Thank God for great sounding audio systems!

Well, it would certainly help your credibility, which right now is below zero. You know it's funny, but there appears to be no mention of any high end gear by you on any audio forum while you "owned" it. Did you post under a different user name at that time?

Variable speed drives are full of PCB's, IGBT's, transformers, relays, switches, etc. Part of my job function is servicing those drives, troubleshooting circuits and parts, identifying "bad" parts of the circuit, repairing those pieces, and making the VSD functional again. The other part of my job is essentially being a reservoir engineer.

F1, I will give no more explination of anything to you. At this point, I don't care about my credibility here, I'm done trying to straighten this out. It's time for you, me, everyone to move on. This is a serious waste of time, and this witch hunt is ridiculous.
