This thread should be a sticky. Lots of valuable info re: the pics and links to the mods all in one place."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer

The links did not carry over form the old forum.
Grrr. -
Just joined. Have a lot of reading to do. But the links for the modifications do not work. Anyone have new links?

Go to DK's profile page by clicking on his screen name. On the right side of his page click on discussions. That should give you plenty to read.

The links that are referenced above by DarqueKnight do not work, I haven't been on this forum for about 6 years and I am trying to play catch up. I have a pair of SDA-SRS's that I bought on E-bay 9 years ago which I modified with new tweeters, capacitors, resistors etc. Based on what I learned form Ray.
Can I assume the .4mh and .7mh inductors that are in the chart will work part number 1160 and 1489?
Does anyone know about the 2.75mh inductor? I found a Jantzen listing which has a part number 000-0049, which 2.75mh, .9ohm, Awg 18.
Other wise I will Measure what I Have

Unfortunately, the transition to the new forum format destroyed the old links. Copying and pasting the link titles into Google usually takes you to the thread, although sometimes you might not end up on the first page of the thread.I haven't been on this forum for about 6 years and I am trying to play catch up. Welcome back. I documented my last SDA SRS crossover mod in these this thread:
http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/111239/further-improvements-to-the-sda-srs-custom-pcb-and-sda-inductorCan I assume the .4mh and .7mh inductors that are in the chart will work part number 1160 and 1489?
I discuss inductor upgrades near the end of the thread quoted above:DarqueKnight wrote:The 0.4 mH 22 AWG and 0.7 mH 25 AWG inductors in the high frequency section and the 2.75 mH 18 AWG inductors in the low frequency section of my SDA SRS's were replaced with Jantzen perfect lay inductors. Jantzen only had a direct replacement for the 0.4 mH 22 AWG inductor. The 0.7 mH 25 AWG inductor was replaced with a 0.75 mH 26 AWG inductor that was unwound to 0.7 mH. The 2.75 mH 18 AWG inductor was replaced with a 3 mH 18 AWG inductor that was unwound to 2.78 mH.
The Jantzen inductors were special ordered from Parts Express. Parts numbers and prices are:
0.40 mH 22 AWG, part number 1489, $2.94 each.
0.75 mH 26 AWG, part number 1160, $1.89 each.
3.00 mH 18 AWG, part number 1068, $14.09 each.
The standard delivery time for Jantzen special orders (from Denmark) is eight weeks. This order arrived in two weeks-four days.Does anyone know about the 2.75mh inductor? I found a Jantzen listing which has a part number 000-0049, which 2.75mh, .9ohm, Awg 18.
Jantzen didn't offer a 2.75 mH 18 AWG air core inductor when I did my crossover mod, so I used a 3.00 mH 18 AWG inductor and unwound it. Their current 2.75 mH 18 AWG inductor has a part number of 0063, rather than 0049, according to the parts list I found here:
http://www.jantzen-audio.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Air-Core-Wire-Coils-List-01-04-2016.pdf
Part # 0063 is what I would have ordered had it been available at the time.
