Phil, it's been a lot of things. I have been sick recently with the ick that's going around. I have been here lurking as always, just not commenting much these days. The forum has changed a bit and since we lost access at work after a serious hack (we are seriously in lock down as far as outside web surfing) I don't post as much. Plus, a lot of the stuff on the forum is the same rehashed stuff over and over and over and over...........I just don't have the energy to respond for the umpteenth time to the same ole' questions.

I'm here, just in lurk mode. I still keep up with who's got what gear, etc......For the time being I am content with all my gear and I finally stopped buying tubes and am content in that area as well. But I do have a **** ton of tubes to roll.

Enjoy the new amps and of course the power cords.

Brock, glad to hear all is well with you. I know there's a lot of funky stuff going around & so far I've escaped it's wrath. Knock on wood!!! I hear you about the forum but that's to be expected with all the new members. Happy to hear you're content with your gear & will be well occupied with tube rolling to pass the time.

That's too bad about the work scenerio... it only takes one bad apple to ruin the batch. And yes I am enjoying the new mono's  & the improvements the PC's have made. Don't be such a stranger!

Great! We have another Shunyata fan. If you can hear a difference with the Venoms then move on up to the Zitron line. You will be even more amazed. Shunyata really discovered something when they invented DTCD for measuring power cord performance.

I also noticed H9 wasn't posting for awhile. I used to look foreward to his comments.....but they became fewer and fewer. I wish H9 had responded more to my posts, but I get his thinking. On the flip side of the coin, its that experience that these forums need isn't it ?. ( Hint,Hint). Even a line or two in a post, with the highlights can help.

Yeah, Shunyata said, per their DTCD power cord analysis, that I'll notice a HUGE difference using their Ztron line. I snapped up a couple of them (only $3k apiece, how could I resist?) for the Emo XPAs I'm thinking of getting.

No, PolkieMan, haven't given up on the Carver yet - had my tech guy stop over at my house so I could show him how easily I could replicate the problem I was having with my amp. He took the amp with him and later reported that he's waiting for a $20 part that will fix it. Hopefully, that'll take care of it.

I have no plans for an Emo addition, not that I see anything wrong with giving them a listen. Above, I was just taking a kind jab at a fellow CP member who oddly doesn't believe in double-blind SQ testing, yet he seems to think it's OK to go by the word of the manufacturer and their "invented DTCD for measuring power cord performance" to let him know he should have/want a power cord that costs thousands of dollars each.

Hey, maybe Emotiva should invent something that measures power amp (pre's too?) performance. Now, that would likely put sales through the roof! :loneranger:

I've never noticed any difference in sound when it comes to power wire, speaker wire, or interconnect wire. Obviously plenty of other people have. I feel fortunate in that regard, given how much fuss I've put into so many other aspects of my audio systems.
