There is a road blocked by a 43' trawler leaking diesel fuel. Boats in trees, many on their sides, on power lines, etc.

Right now I'm seeing light rain and intermittent wind gusts, but the bulk of it should come sometime this afternoon.

It's passing through NYC now on its way up to New England. I guess there's some flooding in New York.

Pretty tame up in NH so far.

Been out for distaster relief for the past 12 hours. Not much going on in DC/MD/VA aside from normal power outages, some flash flooding and down trees. Looking forward to another 36 hours before we get to go home.

Lost power 10 minutes ago. Our subdivision has all its lines underground but it links to older lines above ground. MA loves the look of trees hanging over country roads. However, any minor storm and we lose power. UPS on modem/router will probably last another 20 minutes then adios.

During forecasted storms, a party boat is taken from it's downtown waterfront home to a private mooring up a local creek. The mooring consists of several pilings driven perpendicular to the bank of the creek, and the vessel is nosed up to the shore and tied up along each side to these pilings. During the storm, this boat broke it's mooring lines and traveled down the creek when the water subsided. Look where it came to rest. Posession is 9/10ths of the law, but how does the new boat owner get it off his/her pier?

Things got a little wild here at The Mars Hotel about 3:30 AM when the wind and rain really picked up. Looking around there's a lot of leaves on the ground and a piece of sliding came loose, not a biggie. Judging by the sounds last night, I was expecting worse.

    Hope everyone else is ok.

Sad how most of the deaths and injuries were from trees falling on homes, R.I.P.

Personally, I'd have been in the downstairs bathroom with a mattress over me just in case, a 150 year old Oak tree ain't nuthin' nice in your home. Im glad everone is checking in with us and survived.

Glad to hear Polkies are riding it out with little damage and basically still intact.

No major issues here. Power was out for a while and the yard is a mess, but I was expecting worse. Polrbehr is ok too.

We lost power for 14-15 hours, lots of leaves and branches down, neighbor lost most of a tree, but thankfully no real damage.

Power never even flickered here, though according to the local utility company, 25% of my town is out. What does it say about me that I'm surprised I'm not part of that 25%, despite having 3-to-1 odds against it?

A few branches down in the yard but no damage or anything. Still a little breezy outside but it seems to be passed.

Up above you a couple hours, Bob. Some winds, little rain so far, but part of a neighbor's tree (a very old and big one) is sitting on top of my roof and I hear it rubbing now and then? Other than that, not too much yet. Fingers crossed on my roof. They were supposed to cut this back this summer but the Tree guys are 'backlogged'.

Sounds like the rest of you pulled through OK.

The clean-up has been swift on some of the downed trees I saw yesterday. Here are some picks just a block or three around me and the one tree behind a shed of mine that got flattened again. China berry trees are weak!

There was a big pine tree laying beside that UNCW S. entrance wall. Quick clean-up around here for sure.

That big close up of the sawed tree was the tree that was blocking the road I just took the photos from. That intersection will have alot more sun now.

Just finished driving from NC to VB, really started to notice damage about 100 mi out from VB, on 58. Lots of trees down, shingles off of houses, saw a carport flattened like a soda can by a tree, but all of the main roads we're cleared, I haven't seen anything terrible yet. I'll be sure to snap some photos if I see anything serious.

Looks like Va. got it the worst from what I'm seeing on the news.

Then there's the flooding videos coming in from states above Va.

That storm could've been like Katrina....I'd say we were lucky.

Gatineau was not so badly affected but areas more to the east got a good taste of Irene's residual effects. I'll have to check on my body in New Brunswick as it seems they might have been the most affected. Montreal also did a good taste of the storm.

Back on the forum finally. Power was out out for about 18 hours. Had to go clean out my mother's basement ( about 4 inches of water) and will need to make a dump run today. Spoke to my neighbor about cutting down a tree in between our two houses and he agreed it was time for it to go. Overall not to bad. Glad to be back. Cheers to all.

    Hey NAP,
I'm glad you've got power back. Everything went well here in Lauraville, we cleared off some closely hanging branches the day before the storm arrived and packed the patio furniture away in the garage. Our power remained on, but my wife's mother had the power go off yesterday at 7:30 in the morning. We collected her perishables and brought her over for a visit.
Should be a nice day today.
    Cheers, Ken

Lots of wind & rain, but the only damage was a LARGE branch that fell & hit my trailer (18x8) where I have extra furniture stored. The top was damaged & most likely have water damage to the furniture.

We've been without power & running water since 7 pm Saturday. I took a dip in the not-so-hot tub yesterday to rinse the funk of me~

Went to assist a friend who had 8 HUGE trees down; one was about 150' & probably weighs 15 tons or more. Cut with my Stihl MS440 until & ran out of gas....
