Another attack is inevitable. If we keep playing this stupid game like we do, we will go bankrupt trying to hunt these guys down without killing any 'innocent' civilians. At one point, Osama said he succeeded with bankrupting the russians, and that was his intent for the U.S.

The only monetarily feasible actions are to do nothing or to strike with such force that either no one is left to fight or the ones left are either so scared that they don't fight, or their countrymen string up possible terrorists before we retaliate again and completely wipe them out.

If we keep using soldiers and strategic missiles to attack this type of enemy, we will inevitably lose... it's a fact. We simply can't afford to keep it up. We either play with nukes, or go home.... or invent something just as destructive without the fallout.

Are you seriously suggesting that we start using nuclear weapons? Dude...wow. I'm not even going to gratify that with a response.

Glad to hear Osama's finally bitten the dust. There have been few people through history who have deserved an eternity in hell as much as that scum bag.

"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

This obviously doesn't mean the end of terrorism..it is however extremely symbolic..and a great day for the free world.

Congrats to the US military and intelligence agencies.

Boo to the Pakistani's upset and claiming this is an attack against their sovereignty.

Sorry but I think OBL was there with tacit approval of some in their government. The Pakistani ISI is well known for double dealing. I believe we had to give the Pakistani's something. They had the queen of the chess board, knew it, and traded for something I'm willing to bet.

Bin Laden has to have a mass of critically important protege within a 1000 mile radius of that compound we need to draw a circle and comb it with a fine tooth comb, would create immense unease in the regime

I have heard this type of pure speculation all day on the major news outlets.

Just got back and saw the headlines in the airport. Great effin' news and about time. How can anyone not be estatic over this ?

The only thing I find funny about the matter is all those claiming credit are the same ones who didn't want us there or wanted to pull the troops out without his head on a silver platter. Great news regardless, I may crack open a Silver Oak Vintage Cab for this one.

Caught this last night, stayed up FAR too late watching the 'coverage'. Paid for it with lack of sleep this morning..but it was WORTH it! Like many others; I know people who had friends who died in the attack. I spent over 10 years living in Manhattan and used to give visiting friends tours of the city which included the WTC!

It was a long time coming. But it 'did' happen! Like tonyb says...it's hard not to be proud of the flawless job our team did last night!

Start cracking tonyb:) Sounds as good a reason to open it up as anything. You made a good point, there were a lot of people wanting to give up on the mission, makes me wonder now if P BO has known for some time Usama's whereabouts and was waiting for the choice time( to prop us his re-election) to send in the SEALS. Did anyone notice last night on CNN how Wolfie Blitzer actually seemed upset that we had found and killed Usama Bin Laden, wth???

I'll say it again: ANY sitting President would be out of his mind NOT to take complete credit for this. If the President were a Democrat, Republican, or whatever, does not matter. If you are lucky enough to be in office when it happens, you get the credit. Simple as that. Bottom line: The MF is DEAD.

I'm floored by those who see this in a completely negative light. Yes there is a rational/real fear one of the splintered AQ groups will most likely attempt to strike back, but I believe that will further their downfall. The electronic chatter within AQ network went up a thousand fold I'm betting which the CIA, MI6, etc are carefully watching and gaining and confirming whereabouts, and other information. Plus, the hundreds of individuals and assets focused on OBL can now be turned toward #2 Zawahiri, and Anwar Al-Awlaki the scummy American mouthpiece for AQ.

Sure, the guy deserved to die for his crimes. In today's terrorist economy though, he's basically a stock holder now, not the CEO of a large company.

It's a good thing that he finally got what he deserved for what he did, but no one should delude themselves into thinking that this will make anything "better" (except for those personally effected by him).

It doesn't solve terrorism or terrorist threats to the US, our citizens, or our allies. What it does prove is that if you harm us you can hide, but we will find you, and you can run, but you'll only die tired. Hopefully it gives the sunny day wannabe terrorist(s) a reason to reconsider their beliefs and course of action.

Hopefully this brings some closure to families of 9/11 victims, and military killed and injured.

I would have personally liked to see his corpse hung upside down at ground zero for a week, but what the heck, I'll take dumping his **** in the sea too. Smart move, I must say.

Most likely he'd be thrown into the tracks and held under the 3rd rail.
